In 2015, my wife and I saw villagers in Malawi on the verge of dying from starvation. Many died that year. USAID was there providing life saving aid to many, not all. They have left. People will die from starvation. We do what we can but it's not enough

As someone who worked for Social Security for most of my adult life,I can assure you that a huge percentage of the people I talked to when their check went missing used it for rent, food, and medicine. And they were upset because they didn't have a billionaire son in law to help them.

What are entitlements? Am I entitled to my paycheck because I worked? Am I entitled to my health insurance because I pay for it? Am I entitled to drive because I passed my driving exam? To me, all these are entitlements, just as Social Security and my pension are entitlements because I earned them.

Social Security released a statement about reducing services via telephone calls as if it were no big deal. It is a big deal when a person in Wyoming (3 offices) or Montana (3offices) has to visit an office to discuss their business (if they can get an appointment).

I spent the last 20 years of my career with Social Security as manager of a rural office. We had 35 employees when I came there, 14 when I retired. The teleservice center helped as did automation. But my employees only had the time to help those who absolutely could not handle their claim.
