I like computer fries and board tacos. Give me 30 cans of water to drink with this non-AI generated random sentence. I certainly cannot understand this, but maybe you can?

Is soup gay?

Working with LLMs (AI is giving it too much credit!) to try and automate work for myself feels a little stupid when I end up spending MORE time trying to tell the fucking thing how to do the thing than it would have taken for me to just do it myself.

If a foreign adversary snuck into our Federal budget and cut science research and education the way we’re cutting it ourselves — strategically undermining America’s long-term health, wealth, and security — we would likely consider it an act of war.

It's crazy to think that there are politicians involved in politics today who actively hate the people who voted for them. I guess if you keep pushing to enrich yourself, as long as you aren't there at the end holding the bag of angry people, I suppose you win?

If you live in North Carolina, someone might have invalidated your vote. thegriffinlist.com

Trump is a firm believer that everything is a zero-sum game, so I am not sure what he expected to happen here. This doesn't end with the US winning anything here, this ends with the US being excluded from a lot of trade and people in the US paying a lot more for everything.

This seems like political bias turned into toxic abuse of power going on here. This does not surprise me but it does anger me because they are supposed to represent the entire country, not just red states. How can they be reminded of this fact?

"We are not a poor country! There is no excuse on God’s earth for people to have to choose between food and the medicine they need to stay alive."

What we have going on in the United States is pretty dire, to be honest.

USA needs help. We have a Russian sympathizer in charge who is going to destroy our country and our values. Someone out there must have some information on why Republicans and Trump are so cozy with Putin. We need that proof delivered to the American people.

I wish this wasn't framed as cost-cutting in the article, and would be more accurately be described as "slash & burn" of critical government infrastructure.

Saw #Nosferatu last night and I would like to recommend everyone go see it. It's really good. The scariest thing is the cinematography. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

It's hard to believe that America was clamoring for a leader to remake America in his image with very little nuance and so much hate. I hope if America can get through this we do something to put a little bit more checks and balances into our system of government to protect it from mad men like this

From declassifying JFK and MLK assassination files, to halting DEI and birthright citizenship. His executive actions feel like he's jerking the country back and forth with his power in order to flex. Lets see if the Republican controlled congress gives him even more power.

Gaza has been demolished according to updated maps from Google.

It would be amazing if we could focus and use the very sudden aimless tiktokers in the US to do something useful like stop the unending relentless march towards Oligarchy that the US finds ourselves in.

Wow, one day before the inauguration too, I wonder if this is on purpose.

It's these kinds of articles that will get lost in the commotion of the run-up to the coming inauguration. We will wonder why nobody pieced it together that Russia is using their state-power to influence and otherwise disrupt free countries around the world. euromaidanpress.com/2025/01/13/d...

The Supreme Court said it would take up a challenge to a part of the Affordable Care Act that requires insurance companies to cover some kinds of preventative care at no cost. nyti.ms/4afY2UP

I think it would be ironic if we get universal healthcare because of that wave of populist anger that Trump was happily surfing along on in order to ride to victory. It would be interesting if we just get that one thing out of this. I really want universal health care here in the US.

Social Media etiquette: How to avoid coming across as a turd in your replies "Actually..." - do not mansplain. Or womansplain. Avoid all splaining. "There, I fixed it for you..." - If I wanted it fixed, I'd do it myself. "Raise your..." - fuck off. "I think you meant..." - seriously, fuck off.

Interesting as an early online adopter and computer enthusiast with BBSes and some of the early online chat rooms like IRC and AOL, I was in that late nineties early 2000 bump of online relationships.

I spend more time in the compose screen thinking of what to say then end up closing it all because it just sounds like some meaningless platitude.

I wish propaganda wasn't so effective at getting people to short circuit their ability to reason.

Going on day 3 of no power here in Renton area. 😔
