Sounds like the prostate cancer my father had, and he lived 4+ years after diagnosis. While on dialysis most of that time.

Sometimes I start a crappy mini-series based on a crappy book, and then I get the crappy book and read it in an hour or so just so I can find out who the bad guy is before the crappy mini-series is over. When I do this, I never add the crappy book to my Goodreads. No one needs to know what I did.

This is vile. One of the right's biggest current stars is attacking sign-language interpreters literally because he doesn't like the way they look. And, of course, he's doing it without putting in a minute of work to grasp the differences in the ways deaf people use ASL, lip reading, and captions.

My brother has been a wildfire fighter for 10+ years. His top safety advice to me has always been to be the first one on the road. It's doubly true with 0% containment and LA traffic.
