In case you missed it on the #claycaneshow -- Dr. Ibram X. Kendi on FAMU’s new president—and how even Black people can benefit from anti-Blackness. youtu.be/ty922P8jvO4?...

Delighted to share that MALCOLM LIVES! received its third and fourth starred reviews. My editor told me it is rare for a book to receive four starred reviews. So feeling grateful for the readers and reviewers at Booklist and School Library Journal. ✨✨✨✨ #booksky us.macmillan.com/books/978037...

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com “Racist Americans have murdered Black lives and tried to murder Black afterlives, Black stories and Black history,” Ibram X. Kendi writes. So when Black people die, “what we contributed, what we changed, what we documented dies, too. No funeral. Just gone from memory.”

Ayman Odeh is a member of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. He leads the Arab-Jewish Hadash party and often quotes MLK Jr. Odeh was forcefully removed from the podium in Israeli’s parliament when he criticised Israel’s war on Gaza and the rising deaths of Palestinians. Source: The Guardian

Powerful Article by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi Trump’s Attacks on Black History Betray America www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/o...

The University of Michigan president Santa Ono smeared diversity, equity, and inclusion programs to get this job. But he is qualified. I can’t say the same about Marva Johnson, selected to be next president of Florida A&M University, the top public HBCU. thehill.com/homenews/edu...

Ibram X. Kendi uses the Atlanta Race Massacre of 1906 and editor Max Barber to describe how "Trump's Attacks on Black History Betray America." www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/o...

An important piece I'm going to remember. Thank you @ibramxk.bsky.social. Thinking of the murder of Sikh Punjabi lumber industry workers in the early 1900s by white workers. Indians were lynched. Attacked. Black history = everyone's history. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/o...

Truth.

A must read as the gloves are off again.

“Life is named story. Afterlife is named history. Racist Americans have murdered Black lives & tried to murder Black afterlives, Black stories & Black history. .So when Black people die, what we created. .dies, too. No funeral. Just gone from memory.” My new essay. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/o...

When I was writing Malcolm Lives, I imagined reading it as a youngster. How it would have empowered me. These days, I am brought to a smile when I imagine all the young (and adult) readers it is empowering. Malcolm Lives! is a NYT Best Seller for the second week! us.macmillan.com/books/978037...

Some Black state attorneys general, including Letitia James of New York and Keith Ellison of Minnesota, vowed on Thursday they will ensure police are held accountable in their states. theemancipator.org/2025/05/21/s...

Police officers are killing more Americans than then they did five years ago when they killed George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Too many people have been deluded into believing the problem is the problem solvers, the perpetrators are the victims, and the treatment is the disease.

The Malcolm Lives! tour ended. Here’s some images from the events after Milwaukee. Almost all of which sold out! Where I met so many adults and young people striving to learn about Malcolm X, or looking to be inspired by Malcolm’s revolutionary boldness and courage. We had a time!

The police murdered #GeorgeFloyd five years ago on this day. In its coverage, the media is largely presenting itself as a nuetral observer of the racist backlash that followed the so-called “racial reckoning” in 2020. But many media outlets, though certainly not all, were central characters.

Thrilled to have met the incomparable and highly talented @ibramxk.bsky.social this evening. His new book, "Malcolm Lives!" is an awesome biography of Malcolm X for young readers. Always happy to help my friends from @mahoganybooks.bsky.social with special events. #blackbooksmatter

Looking forward to this conversation with my friend and colleague @ibramxk.bsky.social @politicsprose.bsky.social on May 30 @7pm in Washington, DC.

@drtyroneqbyrd.bsky.social and I were honored to have heard @ibramxk.bsky.social speak to Dorothy Hamm MS students today, providing us all with inspiration for change, and speaking on his latest book, Malcolm Lives! @dei-aps.bsky.social @apsva.us

It's a STAR from Kirkus for @ibramxk.bsky.social's incredible young readers biography of Malcolm X, MALCOLM LIVES! Out now wherever books are sold 📚 #MalcolmLives #IbramXKendi bit.ly/3Xb5oDL

House Republicans just passed Trump’s bill that could stripp Medicaid coverage from 8.7 million people and lead to 7.6 million more uninsured people over 10 years. I suspect many of those people who could lose their coverage are White and male supporters of the Republicans who passed the bill.

If someone would have told me an unapologetically candid biography of a Malcolm X would debut at #3 on the New York Times bestseller list, then I wouldn’t believe them. Not during this time.

Today, I received "Malcolm Lives!" by @ibramxk.bsky.social A great way to #commemorate #MalcolmX 100th birthday!!! #SupportBooks #SupportBannedBooks #SupportIndependentBookStores, like @bookshop.org.

What is the Trump administration going to investigate next? Firefighters who put out fires. Because this administration clearly wants the fires of racism to keep burning. www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...

I've recently realized that I don't know much about Malcolm X. I was excited to see Ibram X. Kendi has a new book and I've learned a lot from other books he has written. Of course I had to be supportive and buy it. 😉 Malcolm's 100th birthday is today, a good day to start it.

Such fun. Conversation with @ibramxk.bsky.social at the dock bookshop in Fort Worth Texas
