Posted on Thanks Giving for the Americans but this is VERY relevant today. Done in 2016

The moon wowed us all day today as we went about town, visiting galleries

Christmas card created c.midC20th, by George Buday, at Netherne Hospital where he was compelled live. One of many cards he designed for art therapist Edward Adamson, Buday was a professional artist & historian of Christmas cards, who had his own studio in an old summerhouse in the hospital grounds

A Saad Qureshi #tbt to Quicken (2011), a major turning point in the artist’s practice. He has 2 solo exhibitions in London right now: I DE V / l’étrangère, 55 Riding House Street, Fitzrovia. HS Projects at 5 Howick Place, Victoria (until 11 December). #sculpture #londonart #contemporaryart

(ON A WALKING TOUR OF LONDON) TOUR GUIDE: This is the spot where, in 2019, someone threw a pound coin clear across the Thames TOURIST: How is that even possible? TOUR GUIDE: Your money went further back then

Sculptor Annie Trevorah introducing her exhibition last night with HS Projects at 12 Hammersmith Grove, London.

French school menu. Lots of vegetables and fruit, choices, courses, variety.

Moment of perfect stillness, Oxford last night.

“In an often-polarized society, Qureshi’s wish is for his work to generate dialogue and unity. He aims to forge bridges between people, between ideas, between what is and what could be. It’s poetry in three dimensions.”

I met some rather sweet llamas today.

Also: If you don't have money to buy my (or anyone's) books, and you live in the anglosphere, before you pirate them, try to get them from your local library instead. They have it or can get it, they pay for the books, and in many places writers get paid for their books being lent. Everyone wins!

My friend Nick (based in the Netherlands) sent me his thoughts on some #EuropeanArt he saw recently:

It has snowed in Chicago and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! Time to remind everyone that we light our train tracks on fire to prevent the switches from freezing.

Here’s painter Antoni Malinowski, leading a tour of his exhibition with photographer Helene Binet at Pitzhanger Manor. Christmas Lates (Thurs 5 December) will feature a special programme animating Malinowski’s work. It features readings by Martin Crimp and a dance performance by Yong Min Cho.

I’ll start with some pics of Saad Qureshi’s exhibition at I DE V / l’étrangère in Fitzrovia. Top pick in Aesthetica and FAD Magazines, come see!
