Artists... Pinterest is your friend. You might be thinking "Why not just use Google?" I think Pinterest is a bit better for art searching because you can basically bookmark a bunch of your favorite artworks as references for later and it's also good at pointing you to other similar artworks.

Diablo 2 resurrected is a lot of fun. It reminds me of Gauntlet. I miss dungeon crawlers with enemies everywhere and the RPG elements. Also the fact that the maps are randomly generated is going to be addictive.

Aseprite pro-tip for large paintings: You can make the preview window fill the screen and set a keyboard shortcut to toggle it on/off (Found in Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Commands) So usually I'll toggle the views like this as I'm drawing.

I think it's time to learn low poly graphics. I may just have to take that leap from pixel art to 3D. I grew up with old unreal and unreal tournament, especially old unreal with the game editor, but I also always enjoyed the aesthetic of classic horror games and Doom. I think it's actually time. 👍
