I have to say I have deep respect for de Blasio being an obnoxious Red Sox fan while being Mayor of New York. Chicago longs for a mayor who cheers for a non-Sox/Cubs AL/NL Central team. We annoying transplants demand representation!

I mean… he could copy the one actually successful thing that Brandon Johnson has done and just solve this by installing competent leadership at NYPD.

I mean, it's not THAT hard to explain. His main opponent was a gigantic turd that no one actually liked. It's basically how we got Johnson here in Chicago.

Putting it on the credit card so that future students and families get screwed is not, in fact, “standing up to Trump.”

Say what you so about Eve Ewing, but she built up a massive following on Twitter, monetized the hell out of it, and then left the site forever. A true Hall of Fame poster.

Lightfoot giving this interview at The Hideout is darkly funny.

Makes Lane Tech and Taft seem slightly less ridiculous.

A little late to this, but it wasn't exactly a surprise to see my home's assigned "neighborhood school" featured in the photo collage of under-enrolled schools. This is how it was described in 2018... since then, the school has lost another 140 students:

I mean…yeah this has been pretty obvious for a while now.

My 70 year old father ride his e-bike 13 miles to the nearest No Kings protest to take part. Normie lib cultural victory.

My somewhat contrarian take here is that this isn’t appreciably worse than what was already happening with existing social media.

Puerto Rican Parade Weekend starting early…

I love the Logan Square Community Page because the top comment on a 20 unit building going up on Armitage and Kedzie is someone insisting it needs at least 40 parking spaces.

The people who were really excited about a Brandon Johnson are really excited about Zohran Mamdani.

NYC loves to copy Chicago.

Actually, the short guy in black and white who’s waddling around is the diamond Chase Meidroth, who is an exciting prospect.

You don't have to like her but when she cooks she's Anthony Bourdain

Nothing gets a reporter fired faster than honest descriptions of conservatives.

It’s a good city.

The fact that so many years later people still believe this about the ACA is so fucking worrying.

The replies and quotes showing once again how bad media literacy is at least on this app.

Nooooooooooo….

I feel like a lot of drivers in this city don’t appreciate how much worse their lives would get if CTA service is cut. (Source: car commuted during the 2009 SEPTA strike)

If nothing else it’s at least good that everyone is dunking on that take. Goes against the stereotype this place has earned. (Of course the fact that the author can block quote tweets is another thing…)
