I’ve seen so many people wondering why these photos look so good/dramatic/cinematic in comparison to now and it’s SHADOWS. Film/tv used to light for depth; to frame the people in shot so yr eye goes to them. Everything is lit flat now for ‘realism’ (& we’re afraid of colour so that’s muted too).

No it doesn’t. Being an asshole isn’t ideological diversity, it’s just edgelording. Wanting livable wages, healthcare, peace, kindness-those are all supposed to be 99% agreeable stuff.
