The 2025 season of apricot 'crop x wild' hybrids is underway, and our first 'babies' are doing wonderfully well!

🤓 In order to study the balance between flowering and runnering in strawberry 🍓, the #FDFE team is using CRISPR-Cas9 ✂️🧬 in the Hawaï genotype to target genes involved in these processes. It allows us to unravel the functions of these genes.

🌸 Spring is coming... but not for everyone! 🤔 'Fertard', a late-flowering sweet cherry variety, still has dormant buds, contrary to St-Georges, a early-flowering variety, that gives a glimpse of the white flowers. 🤩 This picture illustrates the genotype-dependent part of phenology in sweet cherry! 🍒

📣 Some news from the #PrADAm team (Prunus adaptation, diversity, breeding). 🪵 What a beautiful hardwood cutting trial on a genetic resources collection of 340 wild apricots! 🌡️ Wild relative species are of utmost importance for crops, and ability to be propagated is a crucial trait to investigate.
