I also worry about marketability. Do you increase your appeal or dilute it? Hard to guess.

If this is the only reply I get then it's going to be my mantra going forward. A moment of doubt? SWirllllll themmmMm.

What, you never got the ass-suck vibe from someone and then sought input from others to rationalise the feeling after the fact?

Thumbnail is definitely the fluke man monster from The X-Files.

It is wild and aggravating how little the vampires are in this movie. I went in ready for Kiefer Sutherland's vampfest and they're on screen for six minutes and we spend all our time with some little boy and his brother (memories may be clouded by time).

Bluesky absolutely mangled this video, my God. They need to up their data rate.

lol they're so goofy

I haven't fully stress tested it but it seems quite cheap so far. I'm using nonalloc raycasts and pooling all the instances so there's no garbage collection.

lol dammit

Is this not more of a situation of different markets that don't really overlap? It's like with piracy - the person who pirates your game was unlikely to ever buy it. Is it not that the kind of person who falls into the dark pattern mobile hole was unlikely to be your customer anyway?

Is there a danger of it being too much for the player to parse and turning into noise? Great to see emergent stories in a dynamic world but maybe not 50 dynamic stories at once!

I tried Discord for weeks and every channel I joined was either dead or full of off-topic chat. I legit don't get what anyone does on Discord.

In their pernicious fantasy that artists are just magically talented rather than people who spend thousands of hours learning their craft.
comment in response to post
lol I saw that post and thought it sounded ominous.

Didn't they explicitly admit it was just a visualisation, not intended to represent the game?

Looks neat! Bluesky really needs to reduce their video compression, though - mangles most gameplay clips.

He looks like Roy Batty's twin who didn't rebel.

I loved how the ultimate show-down scene was a pair of old-timey stunt planes flying aggressively around each other with no weapons.
comment in response to post
Ok but I'm not smart enough for that.

The dark saber parrying bolts was more mechanical sophistication than I was expecting!

The music says cutesy but the motion says Lovecraftian horror.

Notepad being utterly barebones is a sacred doctrine and it's outrageous they've fucked with it. Thankfully, though, you can turn off copilot.

Did you even TRY to make the new facebook?
comment in response to post
I follow so many devs that I assumed this was about you finally releasing the game and I was very confused.

Honestly, the only way I can handle people arguing in bad faith.
comment in response to post
Resisting he urge to correct people arguing in bad faith is like trying to quit smoking. I think on public forums it's much worse than real life because you know their WRONGNESS is now up for countless naive souls to believe.

You need to show more of the satisfying cleaned vehicle or you are going to jail.
comment in response to post
Yeah exactly. It might be full of doom and misery but at least there's a kind of solidarity among creators.

Uuugh they're all so smug and badly informed and it feels like they're all 15 by the way they talk but they might just be 40-year-old assholes with grotesquely warped worldviews and under-developed empathy.

Honestly, Unity is so good at providing tools for getting around these things I find I rarely need to interact with them directly.

Nice. Now let's see the UV unwrap.

+1 to "I'm not sure we have whatever this is". Best guess is collectible cards?

None of those tools would wholesale write the essay for you. This is fundamentally different.
