I have a lot to say and am going to say it tonight at 7:30pm in a special free Democracy Docket newsletter. I warned you then and we’re doubling down now. hubs.ly/Q03jcjqP0

If that’s what they do to a US Senator with a question, imagine what they do to farm workers, day laborers, cooks, and the other nonviolent immigrants they are targeting in California and across the country. Or any American that dares to speak up. I will not stop fighting to demand accountability.

It rocks that Rick Moranis turned down returning for the last three Ghostbusters movies but is all in for Spaceballs 2, Canadian excellence

This is downright disgraceful and Kristi Noem should be ashamed for letting this take place. This is no way to treat a U.S. Senator standing up for his constituents.

Everyone keeps talking about Stephen Miller's hairline in high school, but one time my friend went with him to Disneyland and his dad had to stuff a bunch of folded napkins into his sneakers just so he could ride with his friends and I feel like that explains a lot more about this whole situation.

Senator Padilla was driven violently to his knees–as if made to kneel before the authority of the executive–because the administration called his questions “disrespectful”. This should offend not just the other 99 Senators. It should offend the conscience of this country.

noem saying thery're going to "liberate" california from its leaders seconds before federal law enforcement restrains and removes one of the state's senators from the room—like what else needs to be said

Re what Noem’s goons just did to US Sen Padilla: Per usual Sen Murphy nails it. “If this is how a US Senator can be treated than none of us are immune” “…this is a test 4 the US Senate as well” This is a pivotal moment. Power has it’s limits. THE KRASNOV ADMIN HAS CROSSED A DEEP RED LINE.

Palmer: Charges should be brought against each one of you AOC: Raising the prospect of charges against witnesses is a form of intimidation is it not? Palmer: I strike those words

Sen. Alex Padilla, who was just forcibly removed from a DHS press conference, is the ranking member of Judiciary’s subcommittee on immigration, citizenship, and border safety, which has “oversight of federal agencies with citizenship, asylum, refugee, and immigration enforcement responsibilities.”

mike johnson desperately wants to be a supplicant to a king

Booker: He was made to kneel before the authority of the executive… They treated a member of the United States senate violently after he identified himself, dragged him out of a room, threw him upon the ground, and put him in handcuffs

Just so we're all clear: It's not a coincidence that the first senator they've used physical force against is Sen. Alex Padilla, a Latino man representing California.

Don't let them lie to you about Senator Padilla. DHS is claiming the agents DID NOT KNOW he was a senator. He CLEARLY says (BEFORE he is tackled and cuffed) "I am Senator Alex Padilla and I have a question for the secretary."

I'm on my way to the Senate floor to talk about the assault on my colleague, Senator Alex Padilla. This is a horrifying moment in our nation’s history.

This is what happens because we didn’t string them up for storming the capitol.

I JUST sounded the alarm in the Oversight committee on the fact that this administration has threatened to arrest elected officials and they have. A judge, a mayor, a Representative, and now a US Senator in his OWN STATE during an open press conference. Governors will be next.

We are marching to Senator Thune’s office. There must be accountability for the detainment of a Senator. This is not normal.

House Democrats need to bring articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem, while Senate Democrats need to bring that chamber to a fucking halt.

It is literally going to take smoke rising from the stacks of giant ovens in concentration camps for some people to realize things have gone awry, but even then many won't care, or think "well, they probably deserved it."

You wouldn’t have a single house built without Mexicanos. You wouldn’t have strawberries or tomatoes or cantaloupe or cabbage or lettuce or the grapes to make your Chardonnay or Merlot without the backbreaking work of Mexicanos. White ppl demonize the very ppl who literally put food on your plate.

After receiving a $1.56 million grant last year, the Siletz Tribe-- in conjunction with other tribes-- will be reintroducing sea otters to the Oregon coast, over a hundred years since they were wiped out there by the fur trade. Also omg look at them! www.hcn.org/issues/57-6/...

We're so far past the "I sure hope he doesn't ________!" phase that we can't even genuinely see it in the rearview mirror. WE. ARE. HERE.

I told you we’d be back

Riots breaking out across N. Ireland after a girl was sexually assaulted by 2 immigrants. Where was the outrage for the 4090 other female victims of sexual violence here in the past year, or the 25 murders committed by NI men? This is not about the victims. It's about ignorance, hate & racism.

In this moment of anxiety, please enjoy a baby goose falling out of an adult gooses wing. Yes I wrote that sentence. Yes this happened. Yes it's ADORABLE. No I don't think I'll capture a cuter goose moment this year. 🐣 🪶

This is what finally did it for you, @RandPaul? themindshield.com/rand-paul-sa...

Jesus Christ... the *entire Fulbright Board* at the State Department just resigned rather than cooperate for a second longer with this monster and his patently illegal schemes.

Every now and then I have to post the single best commercial ever made.

Good morning, Bluesky! Here's a little chuckle to get Thursday started! If you're headed out for any of the many protests across the country, please stay safe! Also, Israel is pushing their luck with Iran. That seems like a problem. Have a day, y'all! #SheShed #FuckICE

Out of the 109 DOGE staffers we've identified: • At least 38 currently work/have worked for businesses run by Musk • At least 23 are making cuts at agencies that regulate the industries that employed them • At least 12 remain, on paper, employees/advisors of the companies they worked at before DOGE

The cruelty in today's politics feels horribly corrosive. Bringing up that hard-working immigrant families — undocumented, yes, but not violent criminals — are being ripped apart based on immigration status doesn't bring compassion or even pause, but gleeful cheers.

Tanks in DC Troops in LA. A military parade on his birthday. Trump is done pretending. This is what authoritarianism looks like in America. My latest on why we must speak out now — before silence becomes complicity. adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/authoritar...

honestly one of the most encouraging recent developments is the naked opportunism of Governor Gavin Newsom, and I pray that there are copycats www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Another program that can and should be targeted by foreign governments interested in poaching value from the United States as we self-destruct. You can't easily replicate the Fulbright program but a start would be targeting of the scholars unceremoniously cut loose by this administration.
