This is so sad: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle... I still love (and buy, and read) children’s picture books even though my children are nearly all grown ups.

Previously on “Europe Braces for War.” Yesterday: Wow, Ukraine, that’s impressive. Today: Oh, Poland! What the fuck!?

Struth! The level of pain I’m in tonight just because I returned to a gym class this morning after missing it for the past 3 Sundays and thought because I’ve been doing it for more than a year, I should be able return at the same level I was a mere 3 weeks ago. 😫

So, I think it's time I begin, in detailed specifics, talking about the mess that is Unbound / Boundless as a book publisher, in essence stealing most of a years royalties from me and many other authors, as a result of poor financial decisions, and legal BS. Please read and share this thread.

Can anyone tell me what’s the thinking/meaning behind the #ConfinedCocktails hastag? (It’s no secret I like a cocktail, but I don’t want to intrude on a hashtag that didn’t invite me…)

Life in the shoe: Giving the Khoosh an outing in a Tierra del Fuego. 🍸🧚🏼‍♂️

Life in the shoe: New Negroni variant incoming... 🍸🧚🏼‍♂️

She’s got a point.

That’s lovely! Pavement heArt! ❤️

Life in the shoe: 22yo just came downstairs especially to check out whether I’d seen this ad yet: youtu.be/1_flIK7pPus?... I hadn’t. But I’m glad I did. Kudos to Andrex for recognising a genuine problem and being funny about it. If they sell more loo roll, good for them.

Life in the shoe: Toasting the end of the Bank Holiday with a 43 Julep. 🍸🧚🏼‍♂️

Why does tinned corned beef come in /those/ kind of tins?

Like asking people if you can take their things would kill the burgling industry?

Who? Who calls this game “paper-scissor-stones”? Who? Even the screengrab knows what it’s called.

Life in the shoe: Don't know what this one should be called. It's the "house amaro" from a bar in Chicago. 🤷🏻‍♀️🍸🧚🏼‍♂️

This is a vastly more important change, in terms of the people it helps than reversing the winter fuel allowance decision. The WFA gave financial benefit to those who didn’t really need it as well as those who did and childhood poverty causes lifelong poorer outcomes in every way.

Life in the shoe: A Windsor Rose*. 🍸🧚🏼‍♂️🌹 *Strictly speaking it calls for almond liqueur rather than walnut, but I like it this way

I am at an uncovered railway station with 8 minutes till the train arrives and from an almost clear blue sky rain is falling on me.

Life in the shoe: My "den", where I work if I'm working from home, is at the bottom of the garden. And today, because the wind is blowing right, little dandelion clock floating seeds keep landing on me. Which is rather lovely.

This is a rather lovely piece: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle... I feel happy for these people. They’ve found something special.

Taurus: The pain in your back is your skeleton trying to get away from the most annoying person in the world.

Caught up with my mum. Dad is now very disabled, which means he’s completely sedentary. But he still likes to eat and mum cooks well. She’s worried about the amount of weight he’s putting on and wants to know what she can feed him that means he’ll eat well but not get heavier. 1/2

A terrific thread, clearly setting out the contradictions, challenges, spurious justifications etc around #Eurovision. I wish I’d found this before watching last night, but I’m glad I’ve read it now.

The BSL during Finland was sensational #Eurovision

More appreciation for counter-tenor singing than I expected. #Eurovision

Ooof! Here comes the political alliances voting. #Eurovision
