My ★★★½ review of The Black Phone on Letterboxd boxd.it/8Fzwwr Was initially ★★½ because of my mixed feelings on the pacing, tokenism, and child abuse, but it grew on me as I appreciated the nuances of the storytelling and the themes. And the correct use of a combination lock puzzle.BP2 looks ★★★★.

Hopefully now with 100% less children being beaten with belts. 100% more psychological trauma for Finny in the aftermath of the events of the first. And a goodly amount of further exploration into the horror of the slightly psychic powers the cast has. Trailer seems to indicate this.I'm interested.
