Caernarfon is my hometown, so I do have a love for it, and its a wonderful place to visit. But I'm still surprised to see it as a "happiest place to live in Britain" list.

Another fun case in the series of "what is a public function" judicial reviews. Interesting bit in para 50 on principle of non-court interference in political party autonomy.

Oíche den scoth sa Oíche Ólaíochta i nGaillimh anocht, bhi mé ag caint faoi mo taighde ar cearta teanga. Great evening for @pintofscienceie.bsky.social in Galway tonight, where I was talking about my research on language rights.

Amárach / tomorrow!

Imeachtaí ar siúl as Gaeilge i nGaillimh go gairid...

Faces of the EU leaders after they hung up the phone with Trump earlier this week. I recommend zooming in on each one of them.

Interested in Admin Law or Devolution? My completed doctoral thesis, "Judicial Review in the Devolved Nations" is now openly available to download and read through the link below. pure.ulster.ac.uk/en/studentTh...

Gaillimh looking stunning today.

Somewhere at the Labour Party.

My question clearly struck a nerve. The faces of many Labour MPs told their own story – plenty of them know I was right. If Starmer’s convictions change with the political weather, it’s no surprise that support for Labour is falling through the floor.

Keir Starmer on a mission this week to make himself even more unlikable.

Vikings @ Steelers for the Dublin game? I'll take that. #Steelers

It's been six years since I took the best photo I'll probably ever take. 📸 @ the Anglesey, Caernarfon

Chríochnaigh mé mo chur i láthair don Oíche Ólaíochta (21 Bealtaine). Táim ar bís! Finished my talk for Pint of Science (21 May), excited to present.

Spent four days painting my end of PhD gift, so I need y'all to appreciate the majesty of it. (miniature is Fulgrim of the Emperor's Children)

Beidh mé ag caint faoi mo taighde ar chearta teanga anseo, ar an 21 Bealtaine... don chéad am as Gaeilge. I'll be presenting my research on language rights - in Irish - for the first time in May. *rapidly resumes Duolingo* pintofscience.ie/event/oiche-...

Excited to get back to reading for fun post-PhD, starting with this.

PhD success! 🎉 Yesterday, Liam Edwards defended his thesis entitled ‘Judicial Review in the Devolved Nations: A comparative analysis of the judicial review landscape in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland’. Liam’s supervisors were Prof Gráinne McKeever and Dr Mark Simpson. Congratulations!

Delighted to announce I passed my viva today, with my PhD thesis "Judicial Review in the Devolved Nations" With many thanks to @mckeevergrainne.bsky.social, Mark, my examiners and everyone else that helped along the way.

What a glorious day to be presenting my research in Maynooth.

It's always been absurd that the Welsh Govt (who controls Welsh language policy) has no power over media/broadcasting, an inherent part of how the Welsh language is shared and used.

The US administration's current approach hasn't been effective nor popular. The Labour Party: "Hey we should try that here!"

We've worked with the Law Society(NI), litigants in person & other stakeholders to develop a Charter to help manage what can be a difficult relationship between litigants in person and solicitors on the 'other side' of the case. Details of the Charter launch below - please register to attend ⬇️

If anyone I know is around/within a short distance of Maynooth University on March 19th - come see my research!

I used to work on a Welsh-language Match of the Day equivalent, "Sgorio", and it had quite an impressive viewership of non-Welsh speakers entirely because highlights of great football speaks for itself.

This has been a constant issue in Wales. Something isn't working in terms of informing the people of Wales about democracy, devolution, rights and governance.

Points at the meme

The SJP procedure is such an affront to access to justice, transparency, and general fairness, it is remarkable that it is still in operation.

About time. Looking forward to finally update my slides stating "No, there isn't an Irish Language or an Ulster Scots Commissioner... yet"

Personally, I love that both Irish and Welsh kept the word "glas" referring to a colour but then decided they should refer to different colours. Makes learning... fun?

Mai'n Dydd Gwyl Dewi | it's St David's Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Which means it's time for y'all to learn some Welsh to use in your daily life. Today's word is: Socsan (slang) Socsan is a word for that deeply unpleasant experience when your socks get wet. Used in the sense of "Oh no I've got a socsan"

Currently on my way to Manchester to discuss all things law and language, and as per usual I will be showing off with (partially) trilingual slides.

I feel dumber for having read the Bill for this.

"You need to be able to speak the language of the people you serve/teach" isn't really an unreasonable requirement for a job.
