Did you know you can buy a continuous glucose monitor for $50 that lasts 15 days? Not diabetic but I got one for research and it's changing my life. Highly recommended. Naturally next step is trying ketosis. Keto flu starting now

📢 Exciting news! Our paper, "AttentionSmithy: A Modular Framework for Rapid Transformer Development," has been accepted at TMLR! 🎉 openreview.net/forum?id=0jh... #AttentionSmithy #Transformer #AI #MachineLearning #TMLR #OpenReview #Bioinformatics #Genomics #NLP #NeuralArchitectureSearch

Any one else getting the sense that grant reviewers are reading less and less of what you write? Just got two summary statements listing a bunch of problems as not addressed when they had whole subsections devoted

Our yard smells strongly of jasmine

Greetings Meyer Jesse G, We have genuinely emailed you quite a lot of times but received no response, so we'd like to try once more as consideration.

🧬 New preprint! We built scTransient, a method to detect transient molecular events in single-cell omics using wavelets + pseudotime. Reveals overlooked spikes in hematopoiesis, macrophage transition, and cell cycle. 📄 doi.org/10.1101/2025...

My PhD dissertation was supported by a NSF award that I helped my PI write about my project. It was my first grant writing experience and proof that what we were doing mattered. Just a few hundred thousand supported at least two papers that were cited over 200 times together #withoutNSF

The president is recommending a 40% cut to next year’s NIH budget. This would be disastrous for our nation’s health and economy. Please contact your representatives, especially if they are Republicans, and tell them why this cannot happen. An easy option: 5calls.org

Tried the blue apron refrigerated meals that they ship to your house recently and super surprised at the quality. Double the price of frozen meals but cheaper than going out, and flavor better than either of those alternatives.

68 new NIH awards made last week. This is great progress!

Can someone explain to me how I can bring my toddler to Costco and leave without a $20 package of cookies or stuffed animals

imagine finding these trees and thinking "I better cut these down and sell them"

These are the only slides you need to see in my ppt

A great evening of science for #TeamMassSpec. Many thanks to @amgen.bsky.social for hosting LAMMS Spring Meeting featuring talks by Pavel Bondarenko and @j-my-sci.bsky.social @cedarssinai.bsky.social

A pie graph worth keeping in mind as the NIH budget plummets jamanetwork.com/journals/jam... for 356 new FDA drugs approved

Today we learned that a toddler will eat all the ice cream you give them even if they are already full from eating their lunch 🤮

Not thrilled about that Severence finale. Where do they think they are going?

I'm tired of all these nonstick pans claiming nonstick and then quickly becoming full stick so I finally got a cast iron pan. There are so many rules I'm sure I will ruin it

Exclusive: NIH officials have advised scientists to remove reference to mRNA vaccines from their grant applications, in expectation the Trump administration intends to abandon most research in the field. By @arthurallen202.bsky.social kffhealthnews.org/news/article...

90% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die from the disease. That's why the medical community is excited about the results of a small trial in which nearly half of the pancreatic cancer patients who received an mRNA vaccine for the disease remained relapse-free three years later.

This is the only mention of the NIH that I could find in the whole CR that just passed in the US congress - it appears to be the same NIH budget except the CURES act is cut $280 million

The budget will pass and it includes a $280 million cut to the NIH. It also apparently removes congressional mandates to spend the NIH funds on certain things. Perhaps the IC funding will redistribute dramatically

Breaking News: A judge ordered the rehiring of thousands of probationary workers across six federal agencies, saying their firings were based on a “sham.” Follow live updates. nyti.ms/422hhPg

Now that I have a bicycle I'm even more confused why most cyclists ride on the line. I'm always as far away from traffic as possible
