it's important this go as viral as the original story for morale purposes if nothing else. despite the image they project these people are NOT unaccountable. consequences CAN be forced. focused anger and outrage MATTERS.

@innuendostudios.bsky.social Editing in the shot with the words 'It's a bit wobbly' on the conclusion was a perfect touch.

I truly don't want to come off as really mean, but it's so bizarre to see the glut of folks on social media with nothing to contribute and the seemingly pervasive idea that every post they see online is directed toward *them* personally

If you see anyone talking about how the Amazon strike could disrupt the flow of packages:

Dems: campaign on Trump as a fascist threat to democracy *Trump wins* Dems: we're ready to work with Trump to get stuff done! also Dems: why don't people don't think we're authentic? it is truly a mystery

This is the most pathetic blackmail note ever written

Big Business Brain on CEO safety:

Anyway, Bluesky was fun. Back to Mastodon.

It's that time of year again where, in an act of frustration, I have to edit The Game Awards down to JUST the awards. I present: JUST The Game Awards 2024: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs1-...

Fetterman's sharp rightward turn will be retconned as reflecting how only centrist Dems can win in a swing state like PA, but this is emphatically not how he was during the primary or the general. His Sinema arc will end the same way: incapable of winning the primary despite being the incumbent.

I just Whammed myself. 🤦‍♂️ #whamageddon

@who.int Director-General's remarks at a media briefing on 10 December 2024: "We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense. It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and Long COVID, and it still kills. The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to."

We can, and must, do more to protect students in higher education from the risks of post-COVID condition. Source: archive.md/ZJYUG

Through pain we are born & through pain, humanity is forced to rise. Because no oppressors in human history have ever been swayed by appeals to our humanity. After all, no oppressor has ever truly cared for our humanity in the first place. #politics #news #climatechange #disability #marxism #covid19

The most basic moderation rule, which I learned running D&D games, is that it's never a choice between ditch a guy or keep a guy, it's a choice between ditch a guy or ditch everyone he'll drive away

"One of my teachers at Columbia was Joseph Brodsky...and he said 'look,' he said, 'you Americans, you are so naïve. You think evil is going to come into your houses wearing big black boots. It doesn’t come like that. Look at the language. It begins in the language.'"

Running TTRPGs every week also means accepting your Spotify Wrapped or Apple Music Year in Review is essentially meaningless. It's your soundtrack music, and that's that.

It turns out being mentally healthy is actually a good thing and essential for maintaining relationships, jobs, and not winding up in terrible places in life. Prioritise your mental health. It's not an option. It's essential. Don't do what I did and give up on it as 'too hard'.

Whenever I hear stories about the government cutting funding for social sciences and the arts, I keep coming back to this comic. Sure, it's harder to see the direct influence of these studies. But they're what make this world better, and our minds better. www.smbc-comics.com/comic/libera...

Make no mistake, colleagues: the exclusion of humanities & social science research from national competitive funding could easily happen here in Australia. The signs & actors are already clear. We let it happen at our collective peril.

When Animorphs ended, fans were vocal about how they didn't like the depressing ending. K.A. Applegate responded with amongst the most brutal letters I've read. It takes a generational talent to tell your fans "If you're mad at me because that's what you have to take away from Animorphs, too bad."

Realising that almost any other fruit pie is more American than apple pie. Everyone does apple pies. Blueberry pie is way, way more American than apple pie.

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment

Response to coups by elected leaders: - South Korea: blocked by mass mobilization of citizens - Brazil: coup leader indicted, barred from politics - United States: coup leader re-elected with majorities in the legislature and a compliant Supreme Court

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

And if their demands aren’t met Sony is threatening to release the whole movie on December 13

Kamala Harris didn't flip one county. Trump flipped 54.

You may have seen this post circling talking about how important it is to tell creators when you appreciate what they do. The irony is it's MY post from Tumblr stolen by someone else. Please reskeet THIS post & NOT the stolen one bc we support creators making their own work on bluesky.

Today is our 20th anniversary! To celebrate we're selling everything at the same price as yesterday and tomorrow. We're deeply grateful to all our authors, artists, editors, layout people, publishers, retailers, customers, and staff for 20 years of Indie RPGs! Here's to the next 20!

THIS. This is the video that finally made me "get" OSR, after so long trying to understand the appeal, and it isn't even an OSR video, really. One D&D session = One Dungeon crawl. That idea is _surprisingly_ potent and is now hard in my brain. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cn9...
