A few months ago, Nature published how-to guide for using ChatGPT to write your peer reviews in 30 minutes. This is, of course, a horrible idea. Here’s my response with @jbakcoleman.bsky.social .

Writing this was like any other act of love - awkward at the start, frustrating at times, but something to be proud of. Very grateful to Dr Kristi Griffiths for agreeing to take on this challenge with me for @natrevneuro.nature.com www.nature.com/articles/s41...

This was a really fun project: We blocked obesity in mice by making them do a tiny bit of work for their food. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

NY Governor Kathy Hochul inside 26 Federal Plaza now, seeking answers from DHS/ICE about the arrest of NYC Comptroller Brad Lander, who is still being detained. @thecity.nyc "How long is this going to take, I don't think he has a long rap sheet," Hochul says to agents.

Lyft driver picked me up from UNC, turned out he was a medicinal chemistry post-doc in a building near mine, until his grant got cut last month. Worked on novel antivirals.

i am fascinated by the outright refusal of people in the professional political commentary class to just consider the possibility that there is no plan and that trump really is a braying idiot with the more acute case of narcissistic personality disorder on record

View of Hands Off! march in San Diego, CA from 34th floor of a building at 7th & B Streets. A police officer told me they expected 3,000 people for the rally/march, but thought there were 10-12,000. @maddow.msnbc.com

Wow. #HandsOff rally in St. Paul, Minnesota is massive!

I'm not a programming guy but MSNBC and CNN should be airing this Cory Booker thing in the same way you take over programming if there's a no-hitter or a basketball player with 60 points in three quarters. It's a physical feat! Cut in for this kind of thing. Costs nothing, gooses ratings, good TV.

“I was also a chronic daydreamer and very emotionally sensitive. This internalized energy had nowhere to go, so it manifested as anxiety. I didn’t know it then, but these symptoms are hallmarks of ADHD in women and girls.”

the constitution isn’t is a word game and the fact that you can abuse the language to produce an outcome does not mean the constitution allows that outcome. the 22nd amendment was ratified to restrict a president to two terms in office, period. that is what it does.

thinking of one of abraham lincoln's great quotes this morning: "As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the extent of the difference, is no democracy."

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.

the last decade has really helped me understand in a more visceral sense what it meant when God hardened the pharoah’s heart

As always, not a lawyer, but one thing that leaps out at me about how things are going down in the courts right now is that the US court system is not designed to be responsive to a crisis like this one. A crisis like this one is not what it's FOR.

News Analysis: The Trump administration’s defiance of a federal judge’s order not to deport a group of Venezuelan men has once again raised the question of whether the latest clash amounts to a constitutional crisis. Legal scholars say that the nation has reached a tipping point.

What a phenomenal message of encouragement!

Le Monde reporting that a French scientist traveling to Houston to attend a conference was denied entry to US after a search of his phone & computer revealed messages critical of Trump's science cuts, "which [says CPB] conveyed hatred of Trump & could be qualified as terrorism". Computer confiscated
