"If not this then what" is the best attitude. I like to think of production planing like a sudoku. If I have a couple limitations or details I can lock, the rest of the plan starts to reveal itself. "I won't have X so I can't do Y. That means I'll be in a tight spot here, so I'm going to do Z."
