It is by no means an exaggeration to say that many, many people who work in politics don't actually believe in anything but making money in a white collar career of consequence. You can't explain this kind of thing any other way.

very clear message from media is that universities should constantly be disciplining progressive students for speech but conservative students should never even be questioned (note that the disciplinary charges in this case were dismissed, but the times published the story anyway)

Heartbreaking: the worst Dem you know just made a great point

What pundits think a broken information environment means: dumb yokels in Ohio spend all day on TikTok and believe in Jewish space lasers What a broken information environment actually means: dumb pundits in NYC and DC spend all day on X and believe Harris ran on trans sports & late term abortions

Wrote about the worst jobs report in over two years coming out today and how the trade war is really starting to sink its teeth into the economy www.splinter.com/hiring-in-am...

No. Way. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

Love how the WSJ is so annoyed with the blind bullishness in the stock market that they're even taking jabs at it in the ledes of their straight news writeups

Do you know how unhinged you have to be for Senator Foghorn Leghorn with a Traumatic Brain Injury to see through your bullshit?

The CBO score of Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill" is out and it's a fucking disaster www.splinter.com/trump-and-th...

Lot of really great data in here. This one made my jaw hit the floor.

Colorado is literally suing RealPage for algorithmic rental price fixing while its governor vetoed a bill (that every Dem in the legislature voted for) banning algorithmic rental price fixing. Brock Hrehor shows how this fits a pattern of Jared Polis siding with corporate interests over the public:

Humanly impossible to see this and not talk shit to these dork ass losers

Didn't wind up using this chart today since it's too messy, but it is fun to look at these 4 things all moving over the past few years (white line is election week) Pink - Fed Funds Rate White - 2-year Treasury yield Blue - 30-year Treasury yield Green - Average 30-year mortgage rate

When people say that LLMs are not actually capable of doing the work that they’re advertised to do, this is a good demonstration of what they mean

“It’s minimizing genocide to ask me to go outside” is the ultimate Bluesky post, I don’t know why the rest of us even bother after this.

The New York Times genuinely believes that its primary job is to troll its liberal readership

A report recently found that less than 25% of all human rights violation reported to the State Department from 2022 to January 2025 in the occupied Palestinian territories ever reached the midway point of an investigation— abundantly clear the Biden admin was systematically ignoring it

Heck of a job, Trumpie www.splinter.com/this-is-fine...

I cannot get over these cops wearing night vision to arrest a dude on a Southwest Airlines flight in broad daylight.

I don’t think anyone involved in the production of this piece—neither the writer nor the editors—believe the argument. I can’t imagine anyone being gullible enough to think that that Nazi was actually ever with the Dems, much less that he’d “come back.” It’s pure ragebait.

I would like to imagine he’s drawing up X’s and O’s over the top of it like it’s Monday night football lol

everything about this just radiates loser energy. his own colleagues are getting arrested or detained in their offices, innocent people are getting kidnapped off the streets, the president is openly taking bribes, and this guy’s sabre rattling from a chair that looks like it needs a booster seat

Chuck Schumer asking the Baileys if they want Iran to have a nuclear weapon and hearing yes every time so he acts accordingly.

American political discourse surrounding Israel-Palestine is just throwing out phrases like Pokémon cards ("two state solution," "right to exist," "only democracy in the Middle East") without any consideration as to how accurately they describe the situation on the ground.
