There’s something that needs to be understood about comics: There’s a misconception that they’re a universal language. They are not. We’re not born with the ability to read them - they’re a way of structuring visual language which we need to learn. We currently have to learn that on our own.

Happy Mother's day to my inspiration. A woman who raised 3 children as a single mom, a high school dropout, who became a nurse, went back to school to get her Master's, became a professor, and retired as a supervisor for the NYC Dept of Health and Human Services. I learned my hustle from her.

Fun fact: The USPS is the only federal agency REQUIRED to both show a profit but pre-pay the full cost employees retirement benefits IN ADVANCE FOR THE NEXT 75 YEARS. The USPS doesn't lose money, it's unduly burdened and understaffed.
