World's richest man departs the White House after killing 80,000 of the worlds's poorest children.

More dystopian edicts from Gilead..

pressgazette.co.uk/publishers/r... £ Sad. My personal roots are in Bermondsey and the SLP is embedded in my folk mythology along with Tommy Steele and The Blue. On a macro note, it's worrying there are increasingly fewer 'legitimate' local news sources available to rebut lies spread on social media.

So the privately-educated son of a stockbroker is a man of the people and a state-educated son of a toolmaker isn't. Puhleese..

BBC1 Bank Holiday afternoon offer: Money for Nothing, Bidding Room, Escape to the Country, Garden Rescue, Finish Line, Pointless. Meanwhile more quizzes on BBC2: The Edge. Lightning, Unbeatable. Why must I pay for this nonsense? The licence fee is pointless money for nothing. (See what I did there?)

He really is Caligula with bad hair. Waiting for a horse to be appointed to his White House cabinet any day now.

There are baby killers living illegally on the West Bank, Netanyahu. And they don't attend mosques.

Just reread this on Medium. Even more relevant now, I think. medium.com/@JamesAlanAn...

I really don't think Badenoch will stay the course. Jenrick is next up. And IMO he will do a Cabinet place deal with Farage in 2029. Just saying...

Why does 'the country' (ie bulk of UK media) want the Government to u-turn and hand millionaires £300 every year for heating, and let farmers with £3million estates not have to organise inheritance planning like the rest of us? Bonkers.

Fantasy political thinking is rife among UK chatterati on left and right. To be clear: if Labour had not ruled out tax rises on workers ahead of general election IT WOULD NOT HAVE WON. How hard is it to get that???

Even Nick Ferrari on @lbc this morning seems to be being positive about the UK-US economic deal. And I think I just heard him criticise Kemi Badenoch! I haven't felt able to listen to him for a while, but thought I'd see what he had to say this morning.

BREAKING: Keir Starmer sums up his approach to government after announcing a new UK-US trade deal in five words: "Serious pragmatism defeats performative politics"

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Press disses 10 months of Labour wins however good. NHS lists down, immigration down, strikes down, inflation down, interest rates down, wages up, homebuilds up, pension credit take-up up, 2 trade deals, school breakfasts, rail nationalised, steel saved. What more do they want

Mon's speech on Andor S2 E9 says it all: youtu.be/8JiIriDZy3g?...

Black smoke. White smoke. Is this the 21st century..seriously ?!?!

Finally. This is what I've said from the get go > goodlawproject.org/supreme-cour...

Aussies got it right. Cost of living, housing, healthcare, Trump were key. Starmer must hold firm. NHS lists, inflation, strikes are down, wages, housebuilding up. Farage is Trump lite. Rich losing heating bung & farmers having to plan tax-free £2m inheritance are distractions. Keir must tell story.

Just saying..

Oh great we’ve got ourselves a pound shop Trump…

We're a quarter way into the 21st century. Smartphones & social media have been used for the best part of 20 years. People born in the years the iPhone and Facebook launched are now at university. This stuff is not new. Yet UK public serices such as NHS still behave as though it is. Disappointing.

@jasonaw.bsky.social FYI Just deleted my Blair reporting rant you liked. Turns out he wrote the foreward to the paper. So the skewed UK reportage is par for the course I guess 🙄

Such poor #journalism by reporters reductively summarising UK Supreme Court trans ruling. It explicitly states that a trans woman is STILL legally a woman in every regard exept in matters relating to the Equality Act which has ALWAYS carefully allowed organisations to exclude 'non biological' women.

Jeez. Enough with the Pope already.

Blimey. Fascinating #journalism

Sound analysis. IMO this 'clarification' compounds a moral panic about an infinitesimally small proportion of the population. By extension, the ruling appears to suggest that a bearded trans man should be allowed into a women's single sex area and, indeed, a women's prison. Bonkers.

Hallelujah! No1 is such a no-brainer on multiple levels. Blair's ID instict was spot-on. From the excellent Crime and Justice Commission via @thetimes.com

It's one of those days when I'm glad we have grown-ups running the UK. Noises from left and right won't throw it off course.

Praps worth a rerun given the circumstances /- medium.com/@JamesAlanAn...

Listening to Trump bleat you'd think manufacturing was whisked away from US to countries with lower-paid workforces by some mysterious deus ex machina - and not by greedy American corporations and union bashers like him. They're to blame not bloody tariffs. Stunned elements of US labor stand by him

Much nonsense being spoken and written about 'Brexit bonus' of lesser tariff imposed by Trump on UK. If UK were still in EU we wouldn't even need US trade because we'd be part of the biggest, richest internal trading bloc in the world with more than enough trading opportunities to go round.

A wonderful advert for why this and the past government was right to double down on non- doms.

Hey @jasonaw.bsky.social how are you finding this platform? Maybe it's me, but it seems a bit dead..

Why is anyone, particularly respected #journalism brands, still using #X? Surely that is the elephant in the room of decent, reliable public discourse.

Why was the #trump tariff announcement so amateurishly presented? POTUS holding a graphics board like a schoolchild explaing 'what I did in my holidays' Weather and wind could have been mitigated by good tech.

Seeing visual representation of how heavily Musk has skewed the platform he bought is quite something. How Elon Musk has transformed the politics of X www.chaoticera.news/...

London Times coming up with brilliant headlines these days #journalism

Any Labour Chancellor proving popular with party base would be doing something wrong. Just saying.. #ukpolitics

Why is #Trump enabling the killings of Ukrainian citizens? Why has he excused Putin's bombings of a sovereign country?

You have to wonder if the Kremlin has something on #Trump. He has not uttered a syllable against Putin who invaded a sovereign country. Trump spent 45 minutes talking to the former KGB boss on the phone. Then he spent 20 minutes dissing a war leader trying to save his country from that tyrant. Evil.

Starmer stepped up today. Proper leader. Intelligence, diplomacy, morality. I reckon he will be a fixture for a decade or so. #ukpolitics

Labour’s giving kids free breakfasts so they can start the day ready to learn. But the nasty party Tories? They couldn’t even be bothered to show up and debate it, no surprise from a party that let child poverty soar while lining their donors’ pockets. #ukpolitics

No tax-dodging landed gentry, no worries about food, no struggling families, and no children going hungry - just a fair system where everyone pays their share instead of the rich hoarding wealth. #ukpolitics

'Did I say that? I can't believe I said that. Next question.' How many fingers am I holding up? Orwell's Big Brother O'Brien would get it completely. #trump #ukpolitics #politics

Tories already realising their latest mistake in choice of leader. Am pretty sure they'll switch yet again. If I were a Conservative (God forbid), I'd still go for Cleverly #ukpolitics

Appeasement noises getting louder in Britain. But we've been there before, in 1930s. Gravity and relevance of White House choices not being grasped yet my many in Britain. But, like I said, we've been there before..

Great defence speech by UK PM. Proper, moral, intelligent, grown-up stance in a world of shallow self-interest and muddled, irrational, rambling 'rhetoric'. Labour showing, yet again, it is the natural party to take its country forward #ukpolitics
