Voting day. Remember your photo ID

Ahead of Record Store Day tomorrow, I visited Badlands Records and chatted to owner Philip Jump about the vinyl revival. I’m proud to support and celebrate the store for all the hard work it's done to keep music, culture, and community alive in Cheltenham for the last 40 years. #RSD25

Paddling the Severn with @HelenMorganLibDem.bsky.social, I was strictly told not to fall in. After what water companies have been dumping here, I didn't need convincing! Ofwat is failing badly. We need a tough new Clean Water Authority that actually holds the water companies to account.

Strong local champions, working hard for our communities all year round. That’s what you get when you vote Liberal Democrat.

Gloucestershire, The Liberal Democrats are the only party which can wrestle control of Gloucestershire County Council from the Conservatives, who have mismanaged it for decades. We need your votes across the county, to send an excellent local champion to work for you. Vote 🔶 on 1st May.

Thanks to Cleeve School for having me this week. Teachers and staff across the county continue to work their socks off under increasing pressure. Additional bespoke SEND provision will better equip young people with specific needs, whilst freeing resources at schools like this one.

Unbelievable. Trump gives the tyrant Putin a US-Russia ice hockey game. Meanwhile he tells Zelensky to hand over Ukraine’s sovereign energy infrastructure and minerals. America used to stand for something.

The WASPI women have been repeatedly let down by the government. I commend the @waspicampaign.bsky.social for the work they’ve done - Ministers should put this right by accepting the Ombudsman’s recommendations in full and providing compensation.

Local energy clubs can ensure that communities who produce renewable energy directly benefit by providing lower bills. However, the current system is inadequate and fails to reward those who are feeding green energy into the grid. This needs to be fixed.

Criminal gangs are terrorising rural communities, men in balaclavas threatening farmers, tearing across fields, engaging in cruel and illegal behaviour. Farmers fear someone will soon be killed. Today I asked the PM to back a rural crime strategy to protect our communities.

I joined the Gloucestershire Endometriosis support group at Cheltenham parkrun. Endometriosis is a serious condition that affects so many women. It takes an average of 9 years to diagnose and we should treat it much more seriously. Thanks to Jakia, Hannah, Charlotte and Sophie for the briefing.

I had a lovely visit to St Mary's Primary School in Yate this morning. Year 5 and 6 pupils have been learning about democracy and how they can make their voices heard. They certainly had some excellent questions for me!

Putin does not want peace, he chose war. He continues to want what he always wanted... Ukraine. We cannot cave to any of his demands. We must keep Ukraine in the war, to keep Russia in the war. If we do, Russia will collapse. Breaking Putin is the only way to secure a lasting and just peace.

Time and time again rural councils are underfunded and overlooked compared to their urban counterparts. The Government must review the woeful funding that places like Shropshire receive and stop ignoring rural areas in favour of large cities and towns.

I welcome the news that more defence spending will mean investment in intelligence and cyber. As home to GCHQ and our rapidly growing cybersecurity sector, the obvious place for this investment is in Cheltenham.

Time to come clean: I'm illegally colluding with BMW to not buy a Tesla and yes, to a significant degree it's because Elon Musk is a Nazi.

MP hails ‘fantastic victory’ as Government pledges to make Windermere sewage-free

Short visit to the Netherlands. Amazing cycle paths, cycle parking and car free historic city centres. Not a pothole in sight. Civic pride everywhere. And then back to Gloucestershire where the contrast is stark. Change needed on May 1st! #cycling #roadsafety #potholes

First post as candidate for the Gloucestershire County Council elections on May 1.
