The Flanderization of ghibli in the public mind is just so insane to me. Acting like it’s entirely wholesome and cutesy but is really overtly anti capitalist, depict the horrors of war and environmental decline, and have TONS of body horror and depictions of death and disease. it legit annoys me

Essential Columbus Ohio comics I recommend you buy. I have a soft spot for the bleakness and experimental nature of the western. The horror book is anchored by the excellent monster hunting Vicar comics and lots of interesting shorts. And Living With Explosions is a powerful punk scene document .

There's a comics bonanza on Tubi right now. The terrific doc about Carol Tyler and Justin Green MARRIED TO COMICS, and the Spain Rodriguez doc BAD ATTITUDE. Both highly recommended.
