Stays like this McTominay will never have to buy a beer or pizza in Naples again

Disappointing for Thistle this week but proud of the players for giving everything when it was obvious they were running on fumes. We’ll just have to celebrate our 150th anniversary with a league title instead.

Ipswich and Brentford playing rugby at every corner in those highlights. Farcical.

It’s been a tough grind of a season but the last 3 Friday nights remind me why I love this club and go back week after week. No matter what happens v Livi next week the moments of the last 3 weeks will live long in the memory.

Who would ever have thought that Thistle would ultimately replace one striker who scored 100 goals for the club with another who’d reach the same mark. Both are club legends and we’ve been so lucky to see them both bulging the net over the last 15 years.

Playoffs baby! That 2nd half was torture but Thistle defended brilliantly. Ashcroft and O’Reilly are beasts.

John Virgo must get paid by the word. Been commenting for years and has never learned that less is more when it comes to sports commentary.

Football bloody hell. No way I saw us getting anything at halftime but we defended brilliantly in the 2nd half. Ablade loves playing against Falkirk when we have 10.

unfollowing everyone on linkedin except this guy

Mark Wilson and Michael Max were watching a different game from the eye bleedingly awful one I was at if they really think that was a good performance and point.

I didn’t think games of football could get worse than the Jags first game at East End Park this season. I was wrong. 2 terrible teams.

Wish I had a pound for every time Megwa and Chalmers turned down the chance to deliver a cross into the box today.

We’ve no chance in the playoffs anyway

Typical Thistle having one cleared off the line in the 90th minute and 10 seconds later finding themselves 2-1 down. Taking the playoff place to the wire as usual.

Last month I did a little experiment. I wanted to see how the exact same post would perform on both X (Twitter) and Bluesky. The results were...interesting... [Thread]

Thought Thistle never looked like conceding tonight. Don’t remember Budinauckas having a save to make. Terrific from the back 3 and McBeth’s passing out of defence was the business. All despite a truly woeful refereeing performance from Hardie and his assistants.

Last team that got a similar battering in the Parc des Princes but won 1-0 must’ve been Scotland with Faddy’s 40 yarder.

I’ve no idea how any official can look at that and think it’s anything but a clear push in the back by Konate. That situation is exactly what VAR is for and the officials have bottled it. What’s the point in it?

How anyone can watch the highlights of last night’s Premiership games and think VAR improves the game in Scotland is beyond belief. Total waste of money. Bin it now.

A Niall Keown sighting on Match of the Day. Not playing obviously! Sitting next to his dad at the Arsenal game.

Refs really should be allowed to book players for diving when a resulting penalty is overturned by VAR. Sort it out FIFA.

That was as bad a Thistle performance as I can remember. Looked like we had no idea how to build an attack. Sideways pass after sideways pass before the inevitable pass back to Mitchell. Impossible to defend Doolan after that.

Does Joe Hart think he’s commentating? He rarely shuts up.

15 appearances for City and he doesn’t celebrate his goal. Dear oh dear. Mate they dumped you.

Jennifer Currie absolutely outstanding in the Thistle goal at Hearts today. Probably the best goalkeeping performance I’ve seen this season. One save in the 1st half in particular from a deflected shot was exceptional.

That’s both Jags game at Falkirk this season ruined by a ref determined to be the star of the show. Falkirk are a good side and may well have won both games anyway but so frustrating to not get the chance to play either game on a level playing field.

Micah Richards on the BBC there saying he’s pro VAR after repeatedly saying on @therestisfootball.bsky.social podcast over the last few months that it should be binned.
