Just said to a friend… I don’t want to be in a country that’s ready for battle. I want to live in a country that’s ready for peace …

Millions of people are worried about paying their rent, feeding their kids or losing vital disability benefits. If the government cared about people's security, it would reverse cruel cuts, end child poverty and pursue an agenda for peace. Let's fund welfare, not warfare.

How was he even selected? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

"People who should have found sanctuary in this country have died by suicide, died from preventable diseases, died because of our hostile border policies. Each one of these deaths is an appalling tragedy that must be acknowledged, mourned, and learned from.’ www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

Still the overriding question remains unanswered. *Why* do we want to reduce net immigration?

Cutting visa access will simply drive more people into dangerous irregular migration. Irregular Migration is a symptom of a restrictive border regime. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction… Will we ever step back & make migration work for everyone?

Push and pull backs kill people. Disgusting @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social

www.theguardian.com/politics/202... @mrjohncrace.bsky.social spot on as always …

What’s utterly depressing about today is that Labour are ensuring the issue of Immigration is framed negatively and headlines every news channel today. Shame on them. @jackabbott.bsky.social please speak out in support of your communities. Your town. #immigration

Happy VE DAY. Remembering those who died so we could be free. Remembering the awful human impact of evil dictatorships. Remembering our EU allies. Remembering those displaced by war -then and now #refugeeconvention #veday

@jackabbott.bsky.social

How it is.

Well that's Fast & Fuhreous,

Meanwhile, in Canada…

“Alone centre stage, for Nige this was his triumph and no one else’s” Depressingly brilliant as always @mrjohncrace.bsky.social

Any news/experiences on impact of voter ID in elections… or are we all asleep & letting parties ensure voters are disengaged

Coming soon: Labour responds to the failure of its Nigel Farage tribute act by trying even harder to be a Nigel Farage tribute act whilst closing its eyes to the evidence of where that path led the Tories.

Labour is handing this country on a silver platter to Reform. People do not vote Labour because they hate immigrants and want Reform-lite. They vote Labour because they want it to make a positive difference to their lives.

Lots still to do in the garden having just moved back here but I’m giving wildlife a chance for a while ! #nomowmay @plantlifeuk.bsky.social 🐛🕷️🐜🦗🐌🐞🪲🪰🌱🍀☘️🍃🍄‍🟫🌾

Many years ago when he lived. The trauma of his preventable death 8 years ago today, how badly he was failed, is as raw as it ever was. Grief. Endless, as is love. Life is fragile. Love lasts ❤️💔

Gary Lineker has said he is leaving Match of the Day because he felt the BBC wanted him to leave over his support for Palestine. If you support Gary, like. If you support Palestine, RT! He should not be forced out for speaking the truth, even if the BBC don't want to hear it.

Remembering Stephen Lawrence murdered this day in 1993 because he was black. He was just 18, with a full life and opportunity ahead of him. He and his family denied justice …still. Never forget. #stephenlawrenceday #racism #policing #justice ?

A disabled person from Liz Kendall's constituency has launched a petition against her brutal DWP cuts Disabled people who cannot work should not have their DWP benefits cut - yet this is exactly what Labour is doing. So, PLEASE sign and share this petition. www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

You truly could not make it up. You could not.

Oh for fucks sake.

The Assisted Suicide Bill is on the ropes - now it needs to be binned permanently Chaos is unfolding around Kim Leadbeater's assisted suicide bill - and for chronically ill and disabled people, the derailing of it cannot come soon enough www.thecanary.co/uk/news/2025...

People displaced seeking safety. Harassed and detained. ‘Walking while black’ The racism of our immigration policies visible right here ..

Another person killed by inhumane Governments, a young woman, still wearing her life jacket … on our border. 4 deaths in 4 days. Despicable @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social #saferoutes 🙏❤️🇫🇷💔

A total no-brainer.

DAILY MIRROR: 'National disgrace' Matt Hancock faces furious backlash over controversial Covid PPE contracts as public outrage mounts during pivotal inquiry. - by Martin Bagot, Antony Clements-Thrower

Curious that when I had this conversation with Torsten Bell a couple of years ago... He never mentioned his plans to be a Labour MP and push for devastating welfare cuts particularly for disabled people.

The use of camps has always been down to government policies, both Labour and Conservatives, rather than the number of people seeking asylum. Napier is just one example of a system designed to dehumanise those in need of safety and protection. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
