For anyone who is also going to #OHBM2025 and wants to have a chat, hit me up!

Just arrived in Brisbane with the loveliest of teams. Can't wait to connect with fellow neuronerds at #OHBM2025!

✈️ Off to #OHBM2025! @cognizelab.bsky.social is en route and ready to dive into an exciting week of brain science, inspiring talks, and catching up with the neuroimaging community. If you’re in Brisbane and want to connect, come find us or drop a message! 🧠💬 #OHBM2025 @ohbmofficial.bsky.social

One of the last things that I still needed MS Office & #Windows for was presentations/posters but now that I actually tried working with LibreOffice more seriously I think there is a lot to like about the software. I was able to adapt a Windows .pptx template poster without much hassle. #linux

Reminder: don't do decoding! When you have more noise in your data (neuroimaging) than you do in your labels (face, house), encoding is better than decoding. Not to mention that encoding models make it easier to control for covariates.

My student sent me this. I am not prepared for Gen Z studying neuroscience 💀.

Looking forward to #OHBM2025 in Brisbane next week! My lab is recruiting a postdoc & neuroimaging analyst/developer to support our NIH funded work in fMRI-based Alzheimer's biomarker development (NIA R01AG083919). Email or DM if you want to meet up in Brisbane! www.statmindlab.com/join-us

I am excited to try this out tonight :) #RaspberryPi

Snippet of code to create flat map figures for surface-based #neuroimaging #fMRI data all inside #Rstats using the amazing ciftiTools package. jaquent.github.io/2025/06/visu...

What a provocative title & text? 😱I only skimmed it yet but I definitely am intrigued. The Exit Manual: How to Leave the Free Energy Cult and Still Get Tenure www.researchgate.net/publication/...

"Eleanor Maguire was a visionary cognitive neuroscientist whose research transformed our understanding of how the brain supports memory, navigation, and imagination." www.nature.com/articles/s41...

We are seeking a scientific coordinator for my research group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig 😊🧠🌈 Could be ideal for a gap year between MSc and PhD or PhD and postdoc! Please out more here: recruitingapp-5218.de.umantis.com/Vacancies/43...?

The list of candidates for the position of Chancellor of the University of Cambridge has now been finalised. Candidate statements are available on the website. The person elected will be the University's formal and ceremonial head, a key role. Voting will take place in July. Please vote if eligible!

Did you ever wanted to see a visualisation how two common brain 🧠 network parcellations (Yeo 7 vs. CAB NP) differ? Here is a small something I quickly cooked up because I was curious myself. #neurosky #neuro #brain #brainsky #neuroimaging Code: github.com/JAQuent/netw...

Funded PhD opportunity with @sjblakemore.bsky.social and I, at Cambridge. We are looking for someone interested in developmental science, to start in the coming academic year. Please share it with anyone you think might be interested (see details attached 😁). drive.google.com/file/d/1RIvg...

Writing some paragraphs about odds ratio and, more generally, different scales in nonlinear models. Any favorite articles on odds ratio?>

Now out with a really cool additional finding: doi.org/10.1016/j.ne...

Our new paper just dropped: we tested whether people confuse virtual reality with reality. Spoiler: They do! Some even tried to sit on virtual chairs. The full story is now out in iScience: doi.org/10.1016/j.is... #VRcademicSky

New review from @wolberslab.bsky.social on using immersive virtual reality with older adults — covering key challenges, design tips, and practical solutions for both basic + clinical research. Great for anyone starting out in #VR + #Aging work! 📄 doi.org/10.1016/j.ar...

Buongiorno everyone...

I am very proud of this one but I didn't think I will get the next achievements.

There are many reasons why #windows is an operating system that is hostile to its user but force reboots after updates are just beyond. I clicked the "Another time" when it asked me, left for a short time & it still rebooted while I had files open when I came back. Glad that I mainly use #linux.

Excited and thrilled and humbled that our work is now out at Nature Human Behaviour linking Memorability with Time Perception! I hope you all find it of interest 🙂 Memorability shapes perceived time (and vice versa) #academicsky #neuroskyence #psychscisky #science
