Recently refreshed my website, check it out for some fun reads and interactivity.

Apple, it's not a want. It's a need.

Okay apple, here's what you need to do next. Hint: this is not what these responses should actually look like.

You know what? Google actually cooked with this new homepage.

You know, it's actually crazy that Apple neglected the primary thing that Siri needs. Chat history, search history, some sort of home for Siri.

I certainly hope it’s clear that if you’re building a product to reduce friction while using cursor + a LLM, your product will probably only have a market for about 12 months max.

Get used to doing hard things.

People keep saying SaaS is over. But I think the role of who is building these tools and services is going to drastically change. It will start to exist more at smaller agency and freelancer levels in ways that it wasn't able to before.

My whole life I've been told how hard it is to do the things I want to do. And I can confirm, things are hard, but why in the world would I want to live my life on the wrong side of it? If you get good at hard things, hard things become easy.

X, BS, and Thrds all have completely destroyed the quality of feeds compared to what we had on Tweety not even 3 years ago. The plot is lost. The algorithms pump brainrot and attention baiting. I'm sorry discover feeds, I am now only using following or curated feeds.

I see more politics here than on X. As far as I can tell, no amount of tuning of the BlueSky discover feed can actually remove politics. I aggressively say "See less of this" and have the topic off in settings. I've blocked keywords, and even use custom feeds (which aren't great for discovery).

Okay pretty sure I need all AI models to support 1M tokens from here on out.

You know how airpods automatically hijack your microphone input on Mac? I have a repeating shell command running inside Better Touch Tool that checks every few seconds to see if my airpods are connected. If so it forces microphone input from my AirPods to my lapel microphone.

I would much rather spend my time here than X, but I don’t see relevant content here - not sure how to better tune my feed - do I need to make the better performing feed algorithm? Is that it?

Discoverability needs to get better in bluesky

I'd bet all the people building Loom clones are only doing it now because @thewebprodigies dropped a 16 hour tutorial in October.

I've seen the team at OpenAI talk about how they know they're bad at naming conventions, so I'd assumed it was a problem they were working on solving... but I can't believe that they truly just went from 4.5 to 4.1. Guys, it's not hard. Just increment the number.

Your platform won't have my full attention if I'm required to be in people's comments in order to grow my audience. Threads, TikTok, and YouTube enable me to define the conversation without being the reply guy or engagement-maxing. I want to focus on creating, not consuming.

It seems like Claude really wants me to use Gemini 2.5 pro.

Humanoid robots are closer to appliances similar to vacuums and microwaves.

I'm actually surprised how little I use AI image generators. They're fine for conceptualizing something that already exists, or putting a spin on something, but they're very bad at being very specific.

It's really hard to do hard things. Keep it up!

Some tech ceos just love to tweet the most one sided content specifically to ruffle people’s feathers. I really appreciate the ones who don’t try to cause chaos just for virality.

I wish I could go back in time to tell myself to write more. There's no time like the present.

A month ago, I bought 2 used monitors off ebay. 1 arrived broken. The second is slowly dying from the corners. Moral of the story, don't buy used monitors on ebay.

This is the moment in which I celebrate that the domain name for my website is my full name. jarren.rocks

As a designer and artist (who now is building a startup). I don't personally feel threatened by many AI tools (largely because my income is not dependent on a slow craft, but rather quick delivery and scale).

The amount of AI Artist brainrot is truly on another level. Never before have grifters and charlatans had so much access to juicy visual graphic creation.

Writing startup names from pitch events is like playing chess with iOS autocorrect

The year is 2030. A wave of billionaires get incredibly sick because their robot assistants didn't wash their hands.

Me when someone starts a complement with “you’re a little crazy, but…”

In May of 2020, one month before GPT-3 was released, I released a video about the Universal Library in which I described a more connected internet. I'm glad to see that in retrospect conversational language models with tooling were right around the corner.

Round 2 let’s go! @pebble

Claude 3.7 Extended can one-shot a Minecraft clone in less than one megabyte.

The crazy thing is everyone's about to become Iron Man. And then the fun question is, what happens after Jarvis becomes a commodity?

whew they did Pleakley dirty

90% of the time I use a USB-C cable to plug in to my MagSafe charger, specifically because MagSafe charging is so inefficient.

I'm in 67 discord servers.

One of the worst things about short-form text platforms is the necessity for absolutism. Unless I extreme-ize every thought, it's not likely to captivate someone long enough for them to pay attention. Even short form video feels more freeing to me because intonation adds another layer of context.

Most people building AI startups seem to forget that "it's all about the cones."

After getting frustrated with Super Whisper failing 25% of the time, I've moved completely to Whisper Transcription as my transcription tool of choice. And I now use BetterTouchTool to perform multiple key presses to make things more simple.

Multiplayer game in which one person creates a puzzle for another person using AI.

I highly recommend only buying thunderbolt 4, 100-240W or above cords. I set this rule for myself a couple of years ago and have never had a problem since.
