This is insane by Yvette Cooper. Spray-painting planes is not terrorism. Criminal damage, yes - but you cannot “terrorise” inanimate objects. It does not serve to cause terror in victims. Therefore it is not terrorism. The authoritarian Home Secretary has lost the plot.

Amnesty International UK said it was “deeply concerned at the use of counter-terrorism powers to target protest groups”. Unless @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social has something serious on Palestine Action beyond vandalism (you cannot “terrorise” inanimate objects) then this is looney tunes stuff.

Their response seems to claim: - Reductions in transmission (& hence infection) have no effect on infection outcomes - NPIs that reduced transmission had no effect because people would've changed behaviour anyway (which is bit like saying light switches don't work because people could use candles)

For those unconditionally cheering the attacks on Iran, remember that our early strikes in Afghanistan and Iraq were “successful”. But we ended up getting dragged into costly wars that created more terrorists than we killed. The American people haven’t forgotten that.
