I have seen a vision of the future, and in that vision Elon Musk joins the scientology and they take nearly all his money.

@warren.senate.gov: "They're fighting over how many children should go hungry so that Mark Zuckerberg can buy another Hawaiian island."

It’s incredible that the President of the United States is openly flirting with suspending Habeas Corpus, disappearing people left and right, arresting judges and politicians, accepting ludicrous bribes from foreign countries, and people are still trying to normalize this shit.

I have a lot to say about the resurgent young men / masculinity discourse but for now will confine myself to: I wish I knew how to convince teenage boys/young men is how little of the world actually requires or even invites the hypermisogynist "tough guy" aesthetic

"While anyone can repost an article, researching & writing is hard work that requires time & money. Before you deride 'mainstream media,' note that it is *no longer the mainstream.* It is derision that is mainstream & easy, & actual journalism that is edgy & difficulty."-Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

"On Tyranny" is a #1 NYT bestseller again. I wish the moment were different. But I’m glad the book is useful. And grateful for all the kind words about putting the 20 lessons to work. snyder.substack.com/p/twenty-les...

when people say "this isn't what I voted for" they should be forced to list what they DID vote for

Can we get more of this? “The Japanese American National Museum will ‘scrub nothing,’ Fujioka said, and instead will highlight the importance of DEI. “Our community is based on diversity, equity is guaranteed to us in the Constitution, and inclusion is what we believe in,” Fujioka said.

Yaas! We have survived far worse than Trump and the right-wing assault on our place in history. They will try, but they’ll never be able to erase us.

I want what they have

The feckless cowardice of Columbia was contagious. Of course Trump won't stop. And all these rich parents and donors have now f'd over their own kids just bc they hated pro-Palestinian protestors. Trump Administration Will Review Billions in Funding for Harvard www.nytimes.com/2025/03/31/u...

Not sure who needs to hear this, but to become a naturalized US citizen, an immigrant green card holder must ALREADY pass a high school level test on American history and civics. Most native-born Americans would fail the test if they had to take it

🎯

Los Angeles pre-EPA and Los Angeles post-EPA.

You don’t know who we just disappeared to El Salvador. Think about that.

pretty good representation of the mask off era here

Trump congratulates @schumer.senate.gov on voting for the CR. Pathetic.

Only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove Chuck Schumer from leadership and replace him with someone willing to fight

BREAKING: SpaceX's Starship EXPLODES, causing FAA to halt flights at 4 major airports The previous Starship also exploded, in January THIS is why FAA probed SpaceX for safety And THIS is why Musk has been trying to kill FAA - and why he should NOT get any more govt contracts

@gavinnewsom.bsky.social dude. You fucked up.

can't believe it's 2025 and i'm stressed about tariffs and measles, like am i a character in an american girl book

The last time America increased tariffs like this, it was 1930 — and it triggered the Great Depression.

The Elon Musk playbook: 1) kill govt agencies investigating him 2) remove govt officials who could stop him 3) kill govt contracts belonging to rival companies 4) give all the govt contracts to his own companies

This is insane. If you wonder why some of us think the rule of law is about to fall, it's this. The U.S. Attorney for DC is not "President Trump's lawyer" and its job is not to "protect his leadership" nor prosecute people who "refuse to put America first".

The divide in politics today is between unreality and reality. Those who seek to rule the world blur human experience and smudge memory, making cooperation and friendship laughable and unthinkable. Ukraine resists an unreality war. snyder.substack.com/p/the-realit...

Clinical trials for the most serious diseases halted. Research grants ended. 1,500 NIH workers fired. All probationary employees fired- these were the brightest, fully trained & vetted, most talented next generation of public servants - fired. This is not ending “waste, fraud or abuse”’

Sharing more townhall videos today because they’re giving me hope. THIS is good trouble! Who is this man? I want to shake his hand and buy him a drink.

He nails it.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

REPOST if you support our federal workforce and know how dedicated they are to their jobs. Show them you appreciate them!

@fetterman.senate.gov wtf

Rep Raskin making sense on Musk’s attempted coup. More of this please. newrepublic.com/article/1911...

Murphy: "We need to act like a real opposition party in the middle of a constitutional and democracy crisis. That means we should not be moving forward nominees or legislation in the Senate. Ds should not be giving votes to nominee or legislation in the Senate until Rs get serious about this crisis"
