I decided to take a few more steps in community organizing support. Gonna be a tech trainer (I think I'm good at it) for new volunteers at SURJ, and I joined the admin team for our local. That last one feels especially significant because it had rested only on a few shoulders.

A reason I get so angry when people diminish stochastic terrorism's role in shaping our society is because when things like the campaign of terrorism & subsequent hate killing of Jonathan Joss happen we all instinctively acknowledge that it may not have were the perpetrators not emboldened.

People repeatedly threatened to burn down their house. Then their house was burned down. Then they returned to check their mail after the house was burned down and someone had left the skull of one of their dogs (which the person had presumably killed?) placed in the open as a threat.

Made and brought mom breakfast, and she is worried about how she is affecting me. I tried to be vulnerable about how I am worried as well about her, and we should focus on in-home care and PT. I would bring up moving rooms for a wheelchair accessible room, but that is a major resistance point.

I think my Jewish narrative is pretty easy to understand. Books have been written about Jewish Americanization, multiracial marriages, and as well the relationships to the Holocaust. But it's weird when I read something and go, oh yeah that was Dad. Not about a stranger or someone else.
