Trump has closed the U.S. to all refugees except white South Africans. Haitians fleeing poverty and violence, Venezuelans fleeing starvation and oppression, people from Congo, Bhutan, Nigeria, and other countries who've built lives here -- all must leave. But white South Africans are welcome.

After 60 years and an amazing legacy of accomplishment, from the Mayors' Institute on City Design to the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, the Design division of the NEA is effectively shutting its doors. Never during my term as Design Director ('03-'07) did I imagine we would sink this low as a nation.
