Oh, they're the ones responsible for those stupid Batman/Bateman ads? JFC

My latest - ALL ROADS LEAD TO BLOOD In a desolate future, a pair of outlaw bank robbers race a bloodthirsty vampire for the last shuttle off Earth, bound for the warm - and warm-blooded - colonies of space. MAD MAX meets FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. blcklst.com/projects/149... @theblcklst.bsky.social

Raiders has two of them: Karen Allen and can we count the eyelid girl?

The rehashing of the SUPERMAN '78 theme and imagery will continue until morale improves.

Happy Birthday, George

Just hoping they bring this back while they're at it.

RIP Robert Benton. Obscure YT of the day: "It's a Bird...It's a Plane..It's Superman," the 1975 tv movie version of the Superman musical Benton wrote the book for w/ David Newman. Lesley Ann Warren is Lois Lane, Allen Ludden, Loretta Swit & Kenneth Mars costar.! youtu.be/C4DNs-94fcE?...

Watched THE BONDSMAN, kinda X-FILES Creature of the Week meets JUSTIFIED - even has Damon Herriman who played Dewey Crowe. Good fx w/ one great chainsaw/gore bit straight out of EVIL DEAD. Bacon carries it but cast is solid. Nice to see Beth Grant as a gun-toting lead. Clincher: 8 eps, 30 mins each.

Watching the Cannes Film Festival footage, thinking of them.

RIP Robert Benton. So many great writing credits. BONNIE AND CLYDE, WHAT'S UP DOC, SUPERMAN, THE ICE HARVEST. His 1994 NOBODY'S FOOL is a perfect movie and gets better each passing year.

Recently discovered WHITES, a 2010 BBC sitcom starring Alan Davies as a frustratingly difficult chef and his beleaguered crew. A kinda proto THE BEAR. Funny but in a low-key manner. Great cast. Only lasted 6 eps. Inexplicably retitled on US Prime as CHEF WHITE'S.

Dive into the neon-soaked streets of Newcastle w/ Mike Figgis' STORMY MONDA, a jazz-infused noir where Sting, Sean Bean, Melanie Griffith, & Tommy Lee Jones collide in a stylish tale of ambition & resistance. Discover why this offbeat gem is worth your time: tremblesighwonder.com/2022/09/04/j...

Red Letter Media's new review of COLOR OF NIGHT mentions every Richard Rush film except GETTING STRAIGHT and FREEBIE AND THE BEAN. Gotta admit, kinda disappointed.

It tells you exactly how rotten my brain is that if I got a wish from a genie, I would wish that the IMDb separated release dates into three distinct and clearly-labeled categories: festival, theatrical, and home video, and that theatrical was the default setting they pushed out through their api.

“And so the Greeks send me this horse, we’re talking about one of the most beautiful horses you’ve ever seen. So big. So strong. Normally they keep this kind of horse for themselves but they were such big fans they said sir, please take our big wonderful horse we’ll even bring it to your house”

I’m going to become the Joker.

I hope that fucking plane crashes on takeoff. Just windmills straight into the ocean.

What’s a movie you think nobody but you and a handful of people have heard of, that you think is a fantastic film? Terrific Oz noir/Western. A sequel to the solid MYSTERY ROAD but this tops it. Moving and tense. Brilliantly shot. The Outback has never looked so equally beautiful and unforgiving.

It’s her day

"Mein Fürher! I can walk!"

We've had a few drinks so now we're watching

Post a sequel that really hits.

Frendo time! cc: @adamcesare.bsky.social

Crap movie but we went from this... to whatever the hell this is.

That was Diana Muldaur BTW. The number of familiar faces in #TheSwimmer is impressive if nothing else. #TCMParty

Ron Howard gets to carry the shame of gassing up JD Vance for the rest of his fucking life and Oprah should have to answer for this fucking dipshit every single day. You platform them? Then it's on you to speak out LOUDLY when they take this kind of turn, or I'm going to assume you still approve.

Happy 45th, FRIDAY THE 13TH. Last fall, I trekked over to Blairsville, NJ and scouted a few locations.
