There was one samurai film I thought of a bit afterwards in that long ending fight way. Eiichi Kudo's The Great Killing.

Going to watch Jaws for the first time this evening. Eldest daughter - "Are you seriously going to watch a film about a shark?" "I don't understand your mind sometimes". I tried telling her it's well loved but she was having none of it

Actually Beach of the War Gods is more powerful and angrier than that. I'm not sure if I've seen such a lengthy fight/battle scene as the one that ends this and it flows so well

Making another attempt at watching Beach of the War Gods. Got through most of it last week but I was feeling crap and not getting much from it

(G Gundam) Can't believe they put the horse in the latex bodysuit machine

It's my second favourite Batman film. I love the set design most of all.

I didn't realise Ran (Kurosawa) features so much of Shinnosuke Ikehata aka Peter, not something I've seen mentioned often and he's so good in it!

Fuck this

hey man, YOU 🫵 should use alt text

Finally someone in this house can tolerate my singing! Takashi rolling around next to me and purring while occasionally stopping to get up close to sniff my mouth, little weirdo

11 episodes left of G Gundam. Mad fun. Definitely the mecha equivalent to the hyper speed laser wuxia films of the 80s and early 90s

Tried cleaning it the best I can and my ps5 still runs hot on warm nights, especially when watching a blu ray. Not sure if I'm worrying over nothing. Putting off long films

This made me think I'd misremembered his death. Still I'm interested in whatever this is

Nearly bought Garm Wars, saving it for next month now. Looks like there's a related manga or other kind of book I hadn't heard of. Trying to find scans of that

Not a furry but Lycaon (a finely dressed white wolf guy with many belts and an attempt at a bondage inspired mask) has to be the coolest looking character in ZZZ and favourite to play. Hoyoverse trying to say "we're about more than jiggling boobs"

Got 4 more films this week, just regular blu ray. 4k tv is not happening any time soon. 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Hunger, Top Gun, and Gwendoline. I wish I'd started doing this sooner

Trying to remember the tapes my parents played in the car. My early music education. Dad - X-ray Spex, NIN, Guns n Roses, Roger Waters/Pink Floyd's The Final Cut, Sex Pistols. Mum - Alice Cooper, Leonard Cohen. Hoping more will come back

Got through The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter without any trouble, I'm delighted to have finally seen it. Loved everything about it. Even the teeth stuff.

Possible new seizure trigger - feeling unusually excited and hyped up, in this case waiting to watch a film. Brain disorders are weird!

Just had a great few days of horror - first time watches of Evil Dead Trap 2: Hideki, Senritsu Kaiki File Super Kowa Too! Dark Mystery: Snake Woman, A Nightmare on Elm Street. June is seeming like a good month for it

Bought a couple of films today. I'm thinking I'll watch 8 Diagram Pole Fighter tonight (first time)

Quite funny when you grew up there. 19 years of it

Garm Wars: The Last Druid (Oshii, 2014)

Rewatching The Dark Crystal. Kind of hated it the first time. Couldn't get past the Muppetness of it all. Seeing it in a different light now and really getting into how gross the Skeksis look and how tactile it feels. Comparable to Sergei Parajanov on that last point.

Big fiction turn off. Don't think I'll ever be completely alright with characters who have lived for hundreds or thousands of years. Unless they try to commit suicide. Can't see it not getting boring and miserable as fuck
