Mike Pence: "The president was wrong to pardon people who assaulted police officers on January 6...Anyone who would ever use violence, whether it be against law enforcement of political violence, must be condemned universally."

Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop! Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels

So much government efficiency it's hard to take. Nice that these folks are drawing compensation from private and public sectors simultaneously. Stick your hand in the till....

Large crowds across the U.S. gathered on Saturday to protest the Trump administration. See photos from the “No Kings” rallies here. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/14/u...

It is official! Despite tanks and planes, Trump’s parade was “listless and low-energy.”

Chicago showed the fuck up!

Do you know how badly you have to screw up as a Republican to get this kind of turnout in IDAHO? #NOKINGS

I'm sorry but the largest protest of my lifetime is not the 7th or 8th biggest news story in the country behind "what does Gen Z want from Instagram?" This shit is humiliating. Rearrange your layout to meet this moment. Omitting the thing happening in every American city is malpractice.

NEW: Democracy is alive in Philly! Amazing scenes in Philadelphia as thousands hit the streets for the anti-Trump protest. #NoKings #50501Movement

I'm not sure about what media to pay for these days, but I never question my subscription to boltsmag.org. I appreciate the attention to what actually gets done in state and local politics.

Senator Bill Cassidy cast a pivotal vote to confirm RFK Jr. while vowing to constrain him. Cassidy has clearly failed to do so, writes Nicholas Florko.

Nearly 2 in 3 U.S. adults oppose the use of government funds for this weekend's military parade in Washington, D.C., according to new data from the NBC News Decision Desk Poll.

law enforcement officials say they made a proactive check at Rep. Hortman's home after a lawmaker who lived nearby was shot and found a "police vehicle in the driveway with emergency lights and what appeared to be a police officer at the door coming out of the house." He was actually the gunman.

absolutely horrifying: "Minnesota state senator John Hoffman in Champlin and Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman in Brooklyn Park were reportedly shot in their homes by a gunman impersonating a police officer."

Trump just announced new 50% tariffs on household appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators. Hope no one out there was in the middle of a remodel, or had a stove recently conk out www.reuters.com/world/us/hom...

Breaking news: A federal judge agreed to block the Trump administration from deploying the California National Guard, granting a request by Gov. Gavin Newsom and saying the president acted illegally in dispatching the troops amid immigration protests.

1. Trump's tax cuts overwhelmingly help the rich 2. His spending cuts are targeted at the poor 3. Tariffs cost the poor a larger share of their income Roll these three regressive policies together and you get the largest redistribution from poor to rich in American history. The anti-Robin Hood.

Trump: "Russia fought with us in WWII and everybody hates them. And Germany and Japan, they're fine — some day somebody will explain that...Everybody hates Russia and they love Germany and Japan...It's a strange world."

A federal judge has cast doubts on the legality of Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to LA.

The most important words of our Constitution are the first three: We the People. We have no Kings here, no monarchs, no slaves and no subjects. We the People.

The gaslighting here is off the charts. With a quiet, moderated voice, measured cadence, and downcast eyes, Johnson will gladly facilitate the disintegration of our government.

Dozens of House Dems marched to Hill GOP leaders’ offices in protest of Sen. Padilla’s detention by federal agents.

Pritzker and Newsom are showing the way.

If that’s what they do to a United States Senator with a question, imagine what they can do to any American that dares to speak up. We will hold this administration accountable.

SCOOP: The Army pushed back on a MAGA pop-up shop being set up at Bragg for Trump's speech but were overruled. Here's how orgs with deep Trump campaign and Jan 6 ties got merch to be sold to troops. www.military.com/daily-news/2...

Sen. Mark Kelly: "What happened today to Sen. Padilla was outrageous. It was violent. It's a scary thing to see happen in the United States of America...The Trump administration has arrested a mayor, a member of congress, and a labor leader...That is not who we are as a country."

Sen. Padilla thrown to the ground, manhandled, brutally taken down, handcuffed It's disgusting Reeks of totalitarianism Un-American Not what democracies do Sen. Padilla was in that building to ask questions of what's going on in California, doing his duty to his constituents We need answers now

Sen. Alex Padilla was forcibly removed in handcuffs from a press conference in Los Angeles Thursday after attempting to ask Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem questions. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Huge crowds are anticipated Saturday for events marking the US Army’s 250th anniversary — but the weather may not fully cooperate. A sluggish front drifting southward could spark showers & storms that threaten to disrupt the celebrations. Details ⬇️ www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025...

NEW FROM CBO: brutal distributional analysis of House GOP "Big Beautiful Bill" On avg the bottom 30% of households get poorer under the GOP bill Avg gets little - and are worse off if you include tariffs This'd be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history

New Quinnipiac poll gauges national sentiment on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act: Two-thirds of registered voters have heard/read "a lot" or "some" about it. Support is 27%, opposition is 53%, and 20% had no opinion. Among independents it's 37 points under water.

Really important story - army officials asked soldiers to identify themselves if they don't agree with Trump's politics that way he'd get only supportive soldiers in uniform during his political rally on base. Heavier soldiers were also barred from participating.

President Trump warned that protesters Saturday's parade will be met with "very big force." He drew no distinction between peaceful and violent protesters.

Bob Costas Condemns Mainstream Press for Doing ‘MAGA Media’: ‘There Really Isn’t Two Sides’

We surveyed 50 Hill Republicans to see who is going to Trump's parade on Saturday. Only six are planning to attend.

This White House claims it’s the most transparent in history, yet for months I've asked the VA to share its list of the 585 contracts it claims to have canceled. But the best I've gotten is an incomplete list riddled with errors. It's unacceptable and an insult to our veterans.

The red arrow is longer than the blue arrows.

President Donald Trump warned Tuesday that people who protest at his planned military parade will be met "with very heavy force." The parade, to be held this Saturday in Washington, D.C., will mark the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary. Saturday is also Trump's birthday.

I've written speeches to a military audience, for a president who was not simply a USN veteran but also an Annapolis grad. Rule number one, following G Washington edict: Anything that smacked of partisan politics had to be cut out. That was then. (Ie, all of US history before this guy)
