Day of the Triffids!

I have read four long judicial decisions in the past two weeks. If I had to write a 100-page paper with 75 different, widely divergent sources, it would take me three months to research and write. Judges take a matter of weeks. I am a non-lawyer; how do judges do it?

In the first decade of the 20th century, Cossacks came to my grandfather's shtetl from time to time. Without any authority beyond force, they dragged away the young men, who were never to be seen again. This administration has reinvented the Cossacks.

I hope that when President Biden dies, which I suppose is inevitable, President Trump will offer him the niceties, courtesies, and protocols that are due to a dead president. I can see Trump refusing to fly U.S. flags at half-staff or not allowing Biden to lie in state at the Capitol.
