I just really need everybody to understand that everything that’s happening in and to the global economy now (and all the businesses and people in it) is the entirely predictable result of the intentional decisions of one guy who doesn’t understand how the global economy works.

Dimon in January on tariffs - “get over it”

Trump has signed more than 120 executive orders since taking office. These orders aren’t law, but you wouldn't know that from the headlines. 'It’s the media’s responsibility not to leave the public with a false impression,' @sulliview.bsky.social writes margaretsullivan.substack.com/p/trump-pret...

Aaaaaaauuuuggghhh

Resistence is NOT futile

This is all true. It’s also true that Musk and his minions aren’t actually saving the government much at all, if anything

The amount of nonsense this is is very high.

As DOJ argues that federal courts have no authority to order "any particular acts of diplomacy," I want to remind everyone that SCOTUS let Matthew Kacsmaryk seize control of Biden's border policy for 10 months and micromanage diplomatic negotiations with Mexican officials. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Sorry, America. We can pay cancer research teams or we can pay to fly Trump and his entourage to a UFC fight in Miami. We can’t afford both.

This past week, the Chinese learned 1) exactly where Trump's pain points are; 2) how much to squeeze them before he flinches; and 3) how little America's partners and allies want to help this president. Highly useful information.

Not a plan... just the Yips.

Donald Trump has a long history of market manipulation. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Republicans' billionaire tax cuts would cost more than 4 major pieces of recent federal legislation *combined*—AND it would be bigger than programs like Medicare Part D & ACA subsidies that millions of people rely on. The GOP is essentially creating a social safety net for BILLIONAIRES.

I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:

@nbcnews.com what in the name if all that is holy are you doing with this headline. Disgraceful www.nbcnews.com/politics/don...

If Dems fail to make Signal leak an incessant story demanding resignations/impeachment, it would be a mirror image of Benghazi, her emails, etc. In face of GOP zone-flooding, Dems cowered instead of calling bullshit; now when GOP says Signal leak is NBD, a failure to push back would be catastrophic.

This continues to be the biggest story in the country: DOGE has already squandered half a trillion dollars in 6 weeks. Not billion. half a trillion, $500 billion talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/irs-p...

With Donald Trump’s tariff policy, a new theory is making the rounds on Wall Street, Rogé Karma writes. "The grand bargain that Trump is supposedly planning to strike has even been given a name: the Mar-a-Lago Accord."

One day soon at a research lab near Santa Barbara or Seattle or a secret facility in the Chinese mountains, it will begin: the sudden unlocking of the world’s secrets. Your secrets. Cybersecurity analysts call this Q-Day—the worst holiday maybe ever. wrd.cm/4iyJdjP

WTF. This is insane. For so many seniors, there would be no money for food, rent, or prescriptions without their Social Security check. Howard Lutnick says if they complain about missing a check, they're a fraudster.

We’re literally closing libraries. Think about that

It took almost 2 months for the NYT to realize this?? www.nytimes.com/2025/03/14/u...

these people are literally trying to destroy america’s future

Thank you for your leadership and courage @murray.senate.gov

When the history of this time is written down, the cowardice will be remembered as much as the fascism

This. Full stop

So good. Just run this on loop @democrats.org.

Was it a lawful order? Sure. Was it a destructive and senseless order? Also sure. wapo.st/4bvtuPC

NEW SCOOP: Some staffers at Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency are drawing robust taxpayer-funded salaries from the federal agencies they are slashing and burning, WIRED has learned. ⬇️ Here's how much they're making:

"Just a big mess": Musk's team claims credit for saving $53.7 million for "canceling" a federal contract that in fact was just for $144,000 and was actually completed 20 years ago. @Fahrenthold.bsky.social @sangerkatz.bsky.social @jsvine.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/03/02/u...

Could not agree more. The Prez & VP are shameful, embarrassing Putin puppets & a disgrace to our country. 🤮 #SlavaUkraine 🇺🇦

That is because they are mendacious

I mean, of course they are

NSF fired 168 yesterday. Today its staff directory page says this:

This is fascism.

Trump is laying off hundreds @bonnevillepower.bsky.social who literally keep the lights on. We're talking about electricians & engineers, to dispatchers, to lineworkers, to cybersecurity experts. Ratepayers support BPA—NOT federal funding. This is putting our energy grid at serious risk!

RFK Jr.’s confirmation “is a victory for Trump, and a clear message that Senate Republicans are willing to embrace pseudoscience in their unwavering deference to him. Americans’ health is in Kennedy’s hands.” Nicholas Florko on what happens next: theatln.tc/6bnEa4tQ

I urged my colleagues to vote no on RFK Jr.’s nomination. Achieving better health outcomes happens when we follow science. Not conspiracy theories, but science. Instead of speeding up innovation, under Mr. Kennedy, we would be taking a risky step backwards.

True story: when my older boys were little, they both got whooping cough even though they were vaccinated. It was bad. We asked the pediatrician what would’ve happened if they hadn’t been vaccinated. They would’ve died, he said. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Nearly every medicine we benefit from started with NIH-funded research. Early discovery work starts in academia. Immunotherapies? Gene therapy for rare diseases? Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s medicines? Vaccines? Novel cancer treatments? Psychiatric medicines? You betcha. 1/
