As they accelerate the climate crisis, oil and gas companies are also fighting for the right to work their employees to death instead of giving them heat breaks. www.eenews.net/articles/hea...

On top of everything else, the House bill's cuts to clean energy will cost 830,000 jobs and raise household bills by hundreds of dollars as a favor to fossil fuel CEOs. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

House Republicans just passed Trump’s Tax Scam (the GOP’s Medicaid-slashing, billionaire-enriching megabill) in a 215-214 vote. The bill got even worse overnight, but the most important thing to know right now is this: This fight isn’t over, and this bill can still be stopped. 🧵

The extra-extreme members of the House Budget Committee voted "present" tonight so that the Medicaid-cuts-to-fund-tax-giveaways-for-the-rich bill could pass out of committee 17-16. Tomorrow, flood Capitol Hill switchboards to voice your opposition to this monstrosity. 202-224-3121.

They want you to be too poorly informed to realize how much worse they are making your future. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/19/c...

The Trump Administration is trying to hide the climate crisis from you. edition.cnn.com/2025/05/08/c...

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies. The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits. Maybe it's not the judges?

“Go ahead and let the rest of the house burn. You won’t have to clean your home when you don’t have one.”

Today, we’re filing in court to unfreeze our funds. This isn't a step we wanted to take. We hope for a quick resolution so we can continue to do the job that we were hired for: deliver clean energy savings, jobs, and economic growth to communities across America.

"What's happening right now is that Republican elected officials are hiding from their constituents, and when they have to talk to them, they're telling them LA LA LA I'm sure it's going to be fine" - @maddow.msnbc.com

The lawsuit alleges the migrants have been "disappeared into a black box" and are unable to communicate with attorneys.

Messaging is important. Speak human, not agency.

You say: they shutdown USAID. You mean: they illegally broke in to a secure facility over a weekend, hijacked sensitive data on vulnerable people and US businesses, destroyed property Americans paid for, cut off resources for sick and hungry families, and fired Americans across the country.

Now we’re cooking! Thank you for doing something, @schatz.bsky.social. www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government. DOGE is not a real government agency. DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions. DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law. DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand.

Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options. Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.

🚨 BREAKING: OMB has just issued a memo *rescinding* the previous memo freezing all federal financial assistance programs. Full text, per government source:

Happy Kansas Day to all who celebrate! Today, I'm taking to heart that a new Free State had the courage to do the right thing in spite of violence, lies and intimidation from racist oppressors.

Not to be alarmist, but this is the most radical presidential action I've ever seen. He's straight up seizing Congress' budget power. What do laws matter if the mad king's whims dictate what gets enforced and where money goes? It's not a policy memo - it's a revolution. Don't let it be a quiet one.

LA is burning & our implicit political baseline is still that climate policies are acceptable if and only if they require zero sacrifice or even mild lifestyle change on anyone's part.

13 former Trump administration officials sign open letter backing up John Kelly's criticism of Trump "Kelly told the NY Times that Trump meets the definition of a fascist and also said he observed the former president on multiple occasions praising Adolf Hitler." www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...
