I've decided to start podcasting today. We'll learn to. I wonder what @scottjohnson.zip would think of my Web player. johnhtownsend.co.uk/podcasts

Been off this app for a couple of days, needed some time to stare dramatically into the distance and ponder life like a discount philosopher. But tomorrow’s a fresh start! Priority number one: me. Time to put myself at the top of my to-do list (right above laundry).

Back at it again, returning to the shopping Centre like a gym bro to leg day. That’s right, I’m back at Fi Facilities Management, rocking the title of Control Room Supervisor. Basically, I sit in a room with screens and pretend I'm in a spy movie. I see you. Yes, you. Behave!

Had an epic day with my beautiful other half, Amy. 10/10. Now it's time to retire to our natural habitat: horizontal and unconscious. Sleep mode: activated!

Travel day! Off to see my future wife, Amy, she hasn't run yet, so things are looking promising. We're heading to the Peak District to visit a crash site... not ours (yet), but fingers crossed it stays that way. Romance, hiking boots, and historical wreckage, just your average date!

I’m working with East Riding Ambulance Service this evening on a short event shift. I'm not certain what the event is yet, but it’s all valuable experience.

Up at the crack of dawn, because apparently, my hair had urgent business. First mission of the day: getting a haircut before it starts its own rebellion.

Assigned to a different shift today with Fi Facilities Management, currently working on the ship floor and patrolling the mall. Looking forward to seeing how the day unfolds.

Can’t wait to crush it at the gym tonight. I’ve been slacking lately, time to lock back in, get my grind on, and stick to the program. No more excuses, let’s go!

Since I couldn’t sleep last night, courtesy of my overactive brain and less than stellar mental health. I decided to run a late night diagnostic on my finances. After parsing through my bills like a spreadsheet sorcerer, I discovered I could save a small fortune with a few strategic cutbacks.

Just another thrilling day as the Day Control Room Supervisor at Fi Facilities Management, living the dream, one blinking monitor at a time. Mentally? I’ve checked out, gone on vacation, and left no forwarding address. Today’s mood: sponsored by "Why am I like this?"

A valuable life lesson learned: You're on your own, John...always have been, and always will be.

I've now uploaded my security CV to my website. Just the medical CV to complete, and then the main updates will be done. Aside from adding a few more qualifications. It’s definitely starting to feel like a never-ending task, but progress is progress!

Day 2 back at Fi Facilities Management as the mighty Control Room Supervisor. Yesterday I nearly fused with my chair from the heat, today, I’ve taken action. I’m in shorts. That’s right, we’ve gone from “professional” to “tropical casual” faster than you can say ‘air conditioning.’

The second shift of the day is now underway at Connexin Live, where I’m working the Tim Minchin event. I’m a big fan of his unique comedic style, hoping to catch a few moments of the show if time allows.

I'm back at Fi Facilities Management, now working as the Control Room Supervisor. With temperatures already climbing at 6 a.m., it's shaping up to be a hot day and I'm already feeling the heat!

It was a pleasure to be back at Hull KR this evening. I even found myself supervising my old spot, the East Stand. It was great to see so many familiar faces from my time there over four years ago. See you all again soon.

I'm definitely starting to appreciate the look and feel of my new website. Taking the time to build it one section at a time has truly made a difference.

Almost all of my qualifications, approximately 99% are now listed on my website. I’ll be adding the remaining few once I complete my requalifications. www.johnhtownsend.co.uk/qualifications

Well, I thought I had tomorrow off… but surprise! I’m now back at Hull KR as a Response Team Supervisor. It’s been a couple of years since I last worked there. Apparently they missed me (or just ran out of other options). Either way, looking forward to being back in the thick of it!

I spent the morning completing updates for all my mandatory Skills for health certifications. Everything is now current and compliant. I genuinely enjoy continuous learning and take pride in maintaining my clinical competencies.

I’m absolutely loving my quiet days off. Just me, no drama, no stress. It’s pure peace and happiness. Solo time is the best time!

Having a midday nap. Is that a sign I’m getting older… or just finally mastering the art of being cozy and lazy at the same time?

Day two of wrestling with my requalifications and uploading the whole digital circus to my site. It’s basically me vs. a mountain of files and the files are winning. Gonna be a long couple of weeks, but hey, at least future me will thank present me... probably.

Pulling an all-nighter in study mode. A few of my courses are overdue for an update, so I’ve decided to go full grind mode tonight and over my next two days off to get them sorted. Time to level up the knowledge base!

This is the only place where you can learn about global politics, see a raccoon stealing pizza, and get relationship advice from a frog with sunglasses, all before 9 AM.

Back on duty as the Control Room Supervisor at Fi Facilities Management. Hoping for clearer skies ahead as it's raining cats & dogs.

Amy and I have committed to a month without fizzy drinks or takeaways. We've done this before and the health benefits were remarkable. I always find the first few days particularly challenging due to my dependence on energy drinks, but I'm determined to push through. Wish me luck.

Over the past few weeks, I've been intentionally reducing my presence on social media. The sheer number of platforms has become overwhelming and, frankly, excessive. Starting today, I’ve decided to limit my activity to just two: here and Instagram.

Guess who's back? That’s right, I’m back at Fi Facilities Management, once again assuming my rightful throne as Day Control Room Supervisor. Let’s all cross our fingers for a quiet Monday (because we all know how well that usually goes). Wishing everyone a smooth, coffee-fueled start to the week!

🚀 I’ve officially launched my digital media hub on Instagram! 🎥✨ This will be the go-to platform for all my creative work, projects, and behind-the-scenes content. Check it out and follow the journey here 👉 www.instagram.com/johnhtownsen...

About to dive into The Accountant 2! I loved the first one. Ben Affleck doing math like it’s a full-contact sport? Iconic. Fingers crossed the sequel is just as good... or at least gives me a reason to aggressively balance my checkbook afterward.

On duty today with East Riding Ambulance Service at the classic car show held at Humber Bridge Country Park. Always enjoy supporting these community events, great atmosphere and a chance to connect with people. First order of the day: locating a bacon sandwich!

Shit just got real! www.instagram.com/share/p/_oq4...

I'm really starting to like how the loading page of my website is coming together. Just a few small tweaks left, then it's on to the next stage.

Starting Tuesday, I’m kicking off my Couch to 5K challenge and I’ll be documenting the whole journey on YouTube! Time to lace up, hit the pavement, and turn those rest days into run days. Let’s get after it! 💪🏃‍♂️🔥 Wish me luck!

I seriously need to start gaming again. It's been way too long. I’m counting down the days until my next day off so I can dive headfirst back into the pixelated chaos. First on the agenda: a glorious return to the OG Resident Evil. Time to relive the survival horror MASTERPIECE. Let’s gooo! 🎮🧟‍♂️💾

Final day of my three-day stint as Day Control Room Supervisor for Fi Facilities Management. I’ve mastered the art of staring at screens and pretending I know what I'm doing. Tomorrow, I swap the control room for chaos & go back to being a medic. Because why not relax by running toward emergencies?

I’m having a full-blown insomniac crisis tonight. Didn’t even get my usual nap in. Tragic, really. At this point, my sleep schedule is less “pattern” and more “abstract art.” No idea what my brain thinks it’s doing, but apparently sleep wasn’t on the agenda.

Day 2 back at Fi Facilities Management as Control Room Supervisor and I’m already bossing it (at least pretending convincingly). Got up for work without hitting snooze 47 times, so clearly I’m thriving. Slowly but surely feeling like myself again or at least a functioning adult with a clipboard.

Welp, here we go again. Back at it as the Control Room Supervisor for Fi Facilities Management. Living the dream... if the dream involves fluorescent lights, endless alarms, and me questioning all my life choices. Can confirm: would rather be anywhere else. Even the DMV.

Back on medic duty tonight, posted a bit late because, well… it’s been one of those shifts. Backstage with Greg Davies at Connexin Live again. At this point, I think he’s starting to recognize me from a mile away.

Just went full beast mode at the gym. Weights were lifted, sweat was shed, egos may have been bruised. Now it’s time to sprawl out like a lizard on a sun-warmed rock and pretend I don’t have adult responsibilities waiting for me at work.

Working as a medic tonight. Got a radio call to check on a woman, showed up, and she goes, “Oh, I don’t need a medic. My husband’s a vet.” Glad to know if I collapse, he can deworm me and check my shots.

I've made the bold (possibly reckless) decision to start watching Doctor Who and I don’t mean the cool modern reboot. I’m talking 1963, black-and-white, cardboard-set, ‘is that an alien or a tea kettle?’ Doctor Who. Pray for me.

Back on duty as a life-saving legend at Connexin Live today for the Greg Davies gig. If laughter doesn't knock 'em out, I’m here in case something else does. Super pumped for this one, mostly because it’s the only gig where I can bring a first aid kit and laugh till I wheeze!

Off for a little retail cardio with Amy before the actual gym, let’s see how much money I can set on fire today buying absolutely nothing I need 😂💸

There's something really special about being with my Amy. Today, she picked me up from work, such a simple gesture, but it meant the world to me. It’s the little things like this that fill my heart and make life feel extra good.
