Co presented The Breakdown on SheffieldLive this afternoon and then went to see Adam & Joe at the Crucible. A good Saturday

Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren really do commit to those accents in #Mobland don’t they?

Grabbed a ticket to see David Byrne at Manchester next year. Wasn't going to bother as ouch it's pricey, but his last show was the best gig I've ever seen so why not. World's probably ending soon anyway, may as well spend.

Patrick Wolf releases his first album in 14 years today, and it's a bit of a cracker. Our album at the week at @musicomh.com is Crying The Neck. www.musicomh.com/reviews/albu...

David Byrne is playing Manchester next year and the tickets are £80 and aargh why are gig tickets so expensive

Went to see Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me tonight as I know the best way to end a week off work is with one of the most upsetting, horrific films about abuse and murder

Fuming that I chose the Springsteen gig where McCartney didn’t guest….

My review of the new Pulp album for @musicomh.com www.musicomh.com/reviews/albu...

An incredible 3 hours with Bruce Springsteen at Anfield. Boss, in every sense of the word

Just watched The Ballad Of Wallis Island, which is basically what I’d do if I won the lottery and tried to get Slow Club to do a reunion gig

I know this isn't the point. But Liverpool has great museums and galleries, superb nightlife for all tastes, two awesome cathedrals, an attractive docklands, rich musical and footballing heritage, and a boycott of the Sun. If you believe it's a shithole, you're both intellectually lazy and wrong.

I wish I’d seen that Doctor Who at the cinema just for the reaction to the end scene. But I’m not paying £15 to see something I can watch for free

As Wings (only the band the Beatles could have been) once sang, Listen To What The Man Said. Tomorrow night! Be there! (I will)

Episode 3 of s2 of The Rehearsal is absolutely incredible. Nathan Fielder is very much not normal and I’m all here for it

I’m rewatching Rogue One after finishing Andor yesterday and it’s so so good. Easily the best of the Star Wars outside the OG trilogy (not a high bar I know)

How didn't I recognise Joe Pantoliano in this week's Last of Us? I did think "oh it's that guy" but didn't realise it was ole Ralphie Cifaretto himself.

Genuinely going to be very funny tonight watching Brighton play against a massively hungover Liverpool team who’ve been partying in Dubai all week

Some photos from Saturday’s excellent Get Together festival

It’s Get Together day and the sun is shining

Jeffrey Lewis & The Voltage at Yellow Arch, Sheffield tonight. Excellent gig

Only just discovered that the writer of this week's Doctor Who was the playwright who wrote The Barbershop Chronicles (Inua Ellams) which makes absolute, perfect sense.

I stood in for Joel yesterday on @thebreakdown.bsky.social - have a listen if you like (sorry for a messy URL) linktr.ee/breakdwn?fbc...

Sheffield music fans who have a ticket for Get Together and are planning on not going: I’ve got a friend who’s looking for two tickets so please let me know if you want to sell

Every time I see Jedward on TV, I think of Josie Long’s old routine. “John, I want to be a surgeon, we need to stop this”

Tempted to rewatch Conclave again tonight….

Honestly think he’s genuinely insane now. I’ve been to Alcatraz, it would cost a fortune to redevelop it into a working prison www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Just finished Suspect The Shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes, absolutely compelling if rage-inducing. The parallels to the Hillsborough cover up are uncanny. I hope Ian Blair and Cressida Dick can’t sleep at night #JusticeForJean

Went to Milan over the weekend. Went to Lake Como, San Siro and watched Liverpool win the league in a Milan bar. As weekends go, it was pretty great

The new album from Self Esteem, A Complicated Woman, is out on Friday. To nobody’s surprise, I’ve given it 5 stars. Review for @musicomh.com www.musicomh.com/reviews/albu...

Remember that period during lockdown when it was suddenly decided that sea shanties were fun. Weird times.

Just finished the first Black Mirror episode of s7, and now I’ll be up for about 3 hours looking at cute cat videos to cheer me up.

In a very on brand move, I’m sat in a cinema, waiting to watch a 26 year old film on the big screen

Excellent show from $60m left leaning liberal werewolf comedian Stewart Lee tonight at Sheffield Lyceum

Excellent night at The Showroo watching the truly bonkers Hundreds Of Beavers, complete with live Q&A from the writer and star.
