Truly shocked to read this story today. A journalist shot and injured by IDF forces back in October is severely injured and will almost certainly die is not allowed to leave Gaza. Israel will not let him leave without explanation and are condemning this young journalist to a slow, painful death.

#coyw Quite an emotional day today. Growing up in Putney I remember having to decide whether to support Chelsea or Fulham back in 64.My dad took me to both. I fell in love with Fulham. Friendly, great humour in the enclosure, and most of the fans were local then. No glories but great memories.

Some people I know boast of avoiding tax. Great, just don’t moan about consequences; weakened NHS, lack of dentists, crumbling schools, lack of prison places, social care in crisis. A decent society requires a tax regime that is fair and based on ability to pay. We should be proud to pay tax.

The case of Sara Sharif is horrific. Beating and torture of a ten year old. Why wasn’t the abuse noticed? Well social work has been underfunded and overstretched for decades, home schooling doesn’t have enough inspectors. If we want services we have to pay fair tax. Tax is not the enemy.
