If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

i was on the board of a housing first non-profit for about 10 years. we went from providing services and housing about ten people to hundreds. it's the most obvious approach and people fight against it for ~reasons~ you solve homelessness by putting people in homes.

Every subway crime gives rise to a new round of pundits claiming NYC a failed city. Every shooting in states with insane gun laws is met with deafening silence from the same people.
