I write fiction, novels and short stories mostly, and the occasional essay and poem. Been known to do a bit of flash fiction and published two flash fiction anthologies from the #FridayFlash community. It was a terrific group of writers. Love 'em all.

Barnes and Noble has a page on banned books (well 34 pages actually). I looked it over and have some thoughts. www.patreon.com/posts/banned...

I have finished Robert Jackson Bennett's Divine Cities trilogy. I’ve rarely poured through three books in succession so quickly. I found the writing fresh, the story arc intriguing, and the characters quite compelling - fantasy with a dose of espionage. www.barnesandnoble.com/w/city-of-st...

Friends, if you're in the Books of Horror group on Facebook, I would love your vote for BLOOD COVENANT in the Brawl. I've never made the final round before and it would be great to make it this time. Thanks! www.facebook.com/groups/52630...

A US passport costs $130 for adults (16 and older) with an additional $35 execution fee for the first-time application. Requiring a passport to vote would amount to a $165 poll tax.

As I explain here, security isn't even the biggest part of the Signal Scandal. This is to keep actions secret from the US government. It's how to do crimes, bribes and more. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/signa...

I cannot tell you how many times I've been included in a private chat where I knew no one in the group. It's not a rare thing.

It's not just that he invited a journalist to the chat, it is the fact that they were using Signal in the first place. The government has secure networks for this kind of thing. Signal is not one of them. Everyone on that chat should have known it. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

I don't know about you, but if I had texted Top Secret war plans on Signal, I would have gone to jail.

If you thought it couldn't happen here, you were wrong.

I find it amazing when I speculate on how bad things might get when people react with, "He can't do that; it's illegal." Yeah, what's your point?

Absolutely true.
