Book rec: Fifth Sun: A New History of the Aztecs, by Camilla Townsend. Shockingly, when a writer reads Aztec sources written in their language, the history you learned in school turns out to be bullshit. Instead, this treats them like complex, intelligent people making the best of an apocalypse.
