If your law is good when there are good people in office, but dangerous when there are bad people in office, your law is bad.

I was commissioned by Mayor Terry Wiggin and the City of Hilltop, MN to create this new poster design for the city’s annual Hilltop Ice Cream Social!🍦 I’ll be live-printing these free posters at a pop-up tonight (Tuesday, June 24th), get yours 5:30-7:30pm at the City Garage Lot (820 46 1/2 Avenue)🎉

This is a good one to jump in on if you’re new to Kay Francis

I can't prove it but I think kids scream so much because they get a split second glimpse of their future

Rolling Stone has excerpted an essay from my forthcoming book. It's about what happens when you get all of your info about the world from the TV (cops are heroes!), and then go out into the world and see for yourself. www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv...

My sneaky cat has taken to finding odd places to hang our where he waits for me to walk by so he can scare me @darthbluesky.bsky.social is this normal

if the holy father of the roman catholic church, by canon of the faith a man with a direct line of communication to the creator of the universe, can admit he is an out-and-out fan of the chicago white sox and not the cubs, it is beyond the pale for a politician to do the "i like em both" schtick

Michael Redgrave in The Lady Vanishes (1938) 🚃

After weeks of having visit requests denied, Avellaneda Delgado's children saw him in detention and were shocked to find him in a wheelchair, unable to speak. The next day, he died. He spent four decades raising a family & working on farms in the U.S. He was a human being. He was our neighbor.

"You have to love the world to want to survive. You have to be positive to wish to live as long as you can. You have to will yourself to imagine the future, even if you think there won’t be one." Indeed. Now more than ever.

Watching ICE chase, tackle, and (usually) whisk into a van anyone who looks a certain way is the most literal and visceral reminder possible that policing in the United States has its roots in runaway slave patrols.

new fit

I've lived in Phoenix for over half of my life but if you ask me who I am deep down, I will tell you I am a Minnesotan. Since I was born & raised in the 2 cities rocked by violence over the wknd, I recorded a chatty video about how proud I am to be from Champlin, MN: www.patreon.com/posts/video-...

“I Know Where I’m Going!” Starting on TCM West right now. Saw this at the @trylon.org a few years back and it’s stuck with me. Catch it if you can :)

"as part of the contract told CBP to not reveal where the data came from" that sounds completely above board and not at all suspicious

Proud of Minnesotans

As someone who aggressively tracked all of my vitals for 14 months when I lost 130 lbs, no you should not unless a Dr approves. Let people who need this have their stuff and stop mucking around in a true diabetic’s space.

Glenn Ford and Ida Lupino in Lust for Gold (1949)

Well, I forgot my roommate from my summer 2012 apartment sublet in D.C. is now the Secretary of the Army, until tonight, when he told Fox News there is a troop on the moon

THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS (1967) — 2:00 am ET — 2h (TCM Special Theme: Score by Ennio Morricone | Part 2) Brahim Hadjadj, Jean Martin, Yacef Saâdi; directed by Gillo Pontecorvo Algiers revolts against the French Foreign Legion. #TCM #TCMParty

If they'll treat a United States Senator like this, imagine how little respect they're showing for working class people. This administration is out of control. Working people must be prepared to act in solidarity and defend our country from this authoritarian behavior. It’s on us.

ICE wanted the San Francisco Standard to blur the faces of agents who were taking immigrants into custody. The Standard told them "no." "...we believe that censoring images from this news event would set a harmful precedent for the media’s right to report and the public’s right to know."

two years ago today I encountered this all-timer of marquee placement at the movie theater:

Threatening that any protests will face a very big force... That's a dictator.

Friend hosted a 1953 movie fest over the weekend. I'd seen Stalag 17 in middle school, The Hitch-Hiker 2x in theaters, and scenes of Mogambo on TCM but the rest were new to me. Everyone loved Stalag, Ugetsu was No. 2 and we thought From Here was WAY overrated (though everyone in it was gorgeous).

Craziest thing about this film is that it turns into a courtroom drama at one point.

Uptown Pro-Tip: tan car with plate ending in 141. They’re out here PUTTING GLUE in locked up bike locks. To come back later and cut them off after you try and can’t unlock them. Caught these losers on my shit earlier tonight. Told me “you’re crazy dude” while holding glue at my lock.

A social media post advertising a list of LGBTQ Pride Month events in New Hampshire sparked an uproar over the weekend, as Republicans criticized the state’s Division of Travel and Tourism Development for publishing the material.

At no point in this entire article of 16 paragraphs does ABC mention that another cop killed this cop by shooting her in the back. Nor does it mention the name of the cop who killed this cop. Nor does it mention that the civilians involved never fired at them. ABC might as well be state media.

Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Jenny McCarthy: Oprah was basically a one-woman Operation Paperclip for horrible grifters.

No French person has ever spoken that slowly. #wwdc2025

lmaoooooo hell yeah LA

for context here’s a map of greater Los Angeles and the protest is the roughly the red circle

In the latest POKER FACE, Sam Richardson plays a character who hates motion smoothing so much that he brings a universal remote everywhere to change the settings of TVs he encounters out in the wild. I’m ecstatic: we finally get Motion Smoothing Hater representation out there at last.

Four LAPD officers on horseback surround a man laying on the ground, trample him, and beat him with their polycarbonate "saber" batons.

Btw, if you can see the grotesque injustice that is the National Guard violently occupying LA for even 1 day against the will of Los Angelenos, then you can certainly see the grotesque injustice that is the Israeli military violently occupying Palestine for 75 years against the will of Palestinians.

"The inexplicable Ghorman resistance to Imperial norms..."

Benicio is pure magic in The Phoenician Scheme and it may be the most he's ever spoken in all his prior films combined.

This should not controversial, but somehow it is. I believe EVERYONE deserves healthcare, no matter who you are, what you do, or where you were born.
