In response to the Polygon and Giant Bomb news, I created an indie and worker-owned games media starter pack. I’ll keep adding to it, so suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Please share!

Get your cat a heating mat. It's a place where they'll be sat, and where to give their head a pat. Only worry if it makes them fat. Then get them on a diet stat. This post sponsored by the purring lump to my left.

Hey everyone! The industry is on fire right now, and given that I have a number of interviews / reviews / guides I'm working on that have no home. If you are an editor seeking pitches for some upcoming games, please slide in the DMs. I'll let you in on my secrets. xoxo RTs welcome.

As much as I'm...muted on Marathon's art style, I'm all for studios mashing a bunch of previous ideas up (hero shooting, team play) with something they've spent a long time working on (buildcrafting). Bungie has a mixed history with this sort of thing, but I'm optimistic, perhaps to my detriment.

If the Bloodborne deal with Sony is any indication, #Duskbloods probably won't ever leave the Nintendo ecosystem, making FromSoftware's latest a system seller. Same playbook, same ENGINE, but I know for a fact it'll push anyone interested in From's work to get S2. Thanks, I hate it, but more pls.

Game Informer is back! The entire team is returning and we can't wait to reconnect. Come join us to celebrate the best in games, the people who make games, and the people who play games from all around the world. www.gameinformer.com/letter-from-...

"video games aren't fun anymore" have you tried playing a good one for once

Seeing all the love for Assassin's Creed Shadows is making me super excited to cover it come launch. I wish I could have been part of this early coverage, but I'm starting on the ground floor PR-wise. That's hopefully gonna change this year! And even if it doesn't, I love what I do.

Monster Hunter Wilds has that weird ability to make me JUST invested enough in the gameplay I keep going after the story. Usually, after finishing a 10+ hour narrative, I'm quite satisfied and stop, even in a huge open world. Now, I only want to fight Tempered Arkveld for the thousandth time.

Hey folks! My buds over at LTRT and I will be raising money for Trans Lifeline this weekend during our annual 24 hour stream. Streaming 24 of our favorite games from 2024. We will be awake and streaming in the middle of daylight savings, so that's going to be chaos. Tune in! Support if ya can!

Monster Hunter Wilds is a hybrid of World and Rise more than it is a daring sequel, but it's still a damn good Monster Hunter. Check out my review on @rollingstone.com ! www.rollingstone.com/culture/rs-g...

Media layoffs abound so to help out journalist pals who've been laid off/freelancers looking for more work , I'm going to do a monthly thread with the writing roles I've found! Here are some February finds. Will be updated as I find things. Reposts appreciated 💛

Hey all! I'm looking for more freelance work — guides, features, reviews, op-eds, etc. If you're looking for a seasoned writer, I can bring tons of experience covering: - Monster Hunter - Souls-likes - FPS's - Open-world - Gachas - Anything else that isn't fighting or sports Reposts appreciated!

I have another home for my various musings on video games (primarily guide-related, but also other things)! Find me on @destructoid.bsky.social. My first post comes courtesy of the Delta Force Operations extraction mode:

Intro time: I've been a full-time freelance writer for 3 1/2 years, with a portfolio of reporting, features, and crit for games and TV/film on some of the biggest publications around, copywriting, and mock reviews/consulting (with a highly accurate record of gauging markets and audience reactions)

I'm the lookout for more freelance work starting soon, so please keep me in mind for anything! I do it all - and quite well, or so my clients say. (Reposts appreciated) - Guides, reviews, news, features - Press releases - Consulting - Mock reviews - Basically anything you need that's not illegal
