Seeing RFK Jr.’s selections to replace the qualified scientists that he fired from ACIP, I very much doubt that the U.S. will have ready access to COVID19 and flu vaccines for 2025. And it could be even worse than that. Bill Cassidy is to blame for voting to confirm RFK Jr. He’s a disgrace.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

If we stop calling these “grants” and start calling them “contracts,” it’s clearer to people why this is such an abuse of power. This wasn’t a bunch of gifts. This was a bunch of binding contracts between researchers and the US govt for specific agreed upon projects.

Excellent point. Democrats dithered replacing an old president with a younger candidate, but the press is holding the entire party accountable. Republicans staged a violent coup against our government, one in which multiple office holders were openly complicit, and the press just shrugged it off.
