I’ve had this stuck in my head all week. youtu.be/drahQ1_UdC0?...

The news: 6am The news, 10am: hold my beer The news, 2pm: hold my beer The news, 7pm: hold my beer

Tossing and turning. Between the boot on my broken foot and flaring carpal tunnel discomfort, I cannot find a comfortable position.

Look at this sweetheart we rescued off the street today! She’s staying at a neighbor’s and escaped out of a fence gap that the two Bernese mountain dogs couldn’t squeeze through. 🤣

Okay…I knew the TX and RUS facts BUT HAD NO IDEA ALASKA STRETCHED THE DISTANCE OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES. Damn 2D map distortion!

Big brother Bowie 🌸

I got through a frightening amount of life before ever realizing I could ask myself WHO DO **I** WANT TO BE? 🌸

In love with this new translation. It is playful and timely and so so good. Audiobook slaps too.

Well, I just got screamed at by my otherwise usually darling 10-year-old. It is clearly going to be the Summer of the emerging tween.

I am a sucker for black-and-white dogs. This is Coco. 🌸

Needed this today!

I don’t like crew socks. I Stan ankle or below and knee or above. Everything else feels like a losing battle against elastic. 🌸

Wore my reading glasses today to play organ. It did not compensate for the boot on my right foot, but man was it nice to be able to see the notes so clearly!!

I love potato salad. All the potato salads. 🌸

I hate doing paperwork. I think it has something to do with the intersection of my attention to detail and the endless nature of bills. I spend too much time moving papers around. If the bills are paid, isn’t that good enough? I don’t need a meticulous filing system attached and implemented. 🌸

Summer is my least favorite season. Loved it as a kid but adult me is not built for hot weather. 🌸

Here is a thing I wrote on Facebook 6 years ago. I still like it. It’s graduation and award season. This used to be my glory streak when I was a kid. I learned how to get the kudos and make my grownups happy and I loved it. +

If you had asked me in middle school who my favorite author was I would have answered Thomas Hardy. I especially loved The Return of The Native. Fast forward 30 years and I’ve lived enough tragedy & loss to avoid seeking out more merely for entertainment or catharsis. Life is hard enough! 🌸

Sometimes the most painful rejections don't come from strangers, they come from those that raised us. They don't yell, they shame. They mold you into what they think you should be and slowly erase what you actually are Carl Jung

Upgrade.

My favorite painting in the entire world is Les raboteurs de parquet (The Floor Scrapers) by Gustave Caillebotte. Was very sad when I couldn't find it at the d'Orsay last week. It's not currently on exhibition. 🌸

I really love the thesaurus. Finding the perfect word is like the first bite of a sublime chocolate cake or putting your feet up after a long day. 🌸

Turns out when you’re in a wheelchair in Paris, you never wait in line! Zero wait for the closest possible view of the Mona Lisa, for example. Silver linings!

Can report that if you want to see an entirely different side of Paris, just break your foot.
