How many people can say that they live in a city with a halvah bar??!!

How New York’s Mayor Wooed Donald Trump www.nytimes.com/2025/03/15/u... Even if you discount half of this reporting, there is no doubt of the bilateral corruption between the mayor and president-elect.

Here is a VERY easy acronym for NYC voters to remember what NOT to do when voting. There are many good mayoral candidates.

At a recent Kennedy Center performance, a quartet of audience members walked in wearing these vests and were met with warm applause.

Do take a moment to read some of the comments. There are still good and kind people.

I have office colleagues who like Girl Scout cookies.

Millions of Americans — including many who have been purged from their positions of responsibility — are standing up to Trump and Musk’s tyranny. Congressional switchboards are ringing off the hook. We are beginning to flood Trump and Musk’s zone. Let’s flood it out.

@grownyc.bsky.social operates NYC's best farmers markets all year long. Today we got to sample rutabaga fries. Don't laugh. They were REALLY good!

Not too many places where you can have a hot pot for lunch and pupusas for dinner. I am lucky to live in such a place.

Friends were in town, so we had to check out Elbow Bread. Too late to nab a croissant.

Overheard a deli order today. Egg whites and bacon on a blueberry bagel.

“We can expect the new administration to target a broad swath of philanthropic organizations based on their ideological views or their efforts to hold the administration accountable.” @mikeberkowitz.bsky.social

Now who doesn't like a papadam? I found this article inspiring and interesting. After reading it, I of course wanted to have a few and was very pleased to see that among my papads, I have Lijjat. Happy to be supporting a women's cooperative! www.bbc.com/news/article...

Much has been written about Jimmy Carter since his passing, but the commentary on his support of this arts has be minimal. This is an informative article stating "Carter’s openness to a wide range of art and music would be his lasting cultural legacy." www.theartnewspaper.com/2024/12/29/j...

amp-theguardian-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/amp.theg... This is a good read on the significance of food's relationship to equity.

Harbinger of a good day to come. I found another duck on my way to the A train!

Joy and serendipity! I found three of the "mythical" ducks on my way home tonight. Well, a blue duck, pink frog, and perhaps a pink seal. If you don't know what these are, here is the story. gothamist.com/news/who-is-...

I hit the jackpot today and got a ham bone from Zabars!! Now to decide if this becomes split pea soup, ham and bean soup, or Pennsylvania Dutch slipper noodle pot pie.

The safe way to leave Twitter. lifehacker.com/dont-delete-...

My 2025 #copyediting mission will be to inspire everyone to learn to put the terminal punctuation on the correct side of the quotation marks in constructions like: Do you really enjoy the song "Yesterday"? Yes, I love the song "Yesterday"!

This is worth a read. Without farmers, we have no food. Few people understand the challenges of farming and do not recognize it as a profession. I am not talking about industrial farms exploiting land and people.
