“My commitment is about delivering a city that is not only affordable to each and every New Yorker, but is one that each and every New Yorker feels proud of living in.”

Donald Trump just unilaterally bombed Iran. A masked gang is terrorizing our streets. America has rapidly devolved into an authoritarian state. That's why, today, The Onion has purchased a full page ad in today's New York Times with a simple plea to Congress: Sit back and do absolutely nothing.

A lot of people are rightly saying, so what, no one is going to stop Trump. That's true, in the short term. It's also true that the order put in place after WWII is collapsing.

The war in Iran is illegal under the UN Charter, under War Powers Act, and didn't even comply with National Security Act.

AOC: “grounds for impeachment” Jeffries: “Trump needs to explain”

Earlier today we taped tomorrow’s show, and we discussed the potential for the U.S. to bomb Iran. Since taping, the U.S. has carried out several bombings. We’ll have more to say in the future, but for now our piece on Trump and the Iran Deal can help explain what got us here. youtu.be/5xnZ_CeTqyM

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

U.S. spies and a U.S. intelligence agency—including Trump's own Director of National Intelligence—told the president that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon. He ignored them, preferring to listen to Israel and Fox News, and has now ordered the U.S. military to strike Iran.

Horrible.

Two pertinent graphs from me tonight... First, U.S. support for bombing Iran is very low — much lower than support was at the time for the American military attacking Afghanistan, Iraq, and ISIS. Link: www.gelliottmorris.com/p/polls-amer...

AOC: “It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

Trump bombing Iran was illegal and unjustified. I ran for Congress to make sure our leaders consider the true costs of war. And I will be in the Senate, standing on my titanium legs, demanding answers from Trump. My statement:

Trump just hurled America into war for his inflated ego: www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...
