SUNDAY DELIGHT LET ME HELP MOM...

Good morning. Sharing another photograph from across the pond, this time from beautiful Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #BlueSkyMonday #cloud

My first attempt at observing the North American nebula. Came out ok I think.

🧵 This spectacular image-- obtained by SOFIA-derived magnetic streamlines superposed on ESO, APEX, Chandra, and Spitzer images-- shows the warped magnetic fields of Centaurus A (or Cen A), an active galaxy in Centaurus. ➡️ apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap21042... 🔭 🧪 #extragalactic #Science

I’m sorry but the vibes on BlueSky are so bad 😭. Every time I post a joke on here I’m met with like 20 humorless scolds. It’s not even people being mean just like…complete devoid of being able to do a bit

Made it! One of my milestone points on my route. It’s been a long and arduous day. 33.5km and some tough walking. I’m feeling tired.

Congress has to approve it and even then, it has to abide by terms outlined in the Constitution. Part of the checks and balances to keep the president from being an outright dictator. But he was only gonna be a dictator on day 1 right?

Being in Nürnberg for some customer visits and took the opportunity for a short astronomical tour through the historic city. Weather is fine, sitting now outside with a fine Franconian beer. Okay, a short 🧵. 🔭 1/n

Just booked a 100-mile train journey in Italy for my family of five for $100, with trains running every 20 minutes in case we miss ours. Is this what a developed country looks like?

Enceladus in True Color apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap25061... Do oceans under the ice of Saturn's moon Enceladus contain life? A reason to think so involves long features -- some dubbed tiger stripes -- that are known to be spewing ice from the moon's icy interior into space.

That's some smart upcycling - though it does mean someone's missing a wheelie bin.

Rare image of me in a BYD Seagull on my way to plow through 12 cones at the next gentle curve. 😅 The video's live now, by the way. Go watch it and even perhaps share the video if you can!

Looking almost straight up at a Northern Two-toed Sloth (Choloepus hoffmanni), high overhead in Costa Rica. I saw two sloths while there, both well up in trees, but did manage to find this one's sleepy face through a gap in the branches. 🌿🦥

The beauty of a sky with clouds especially attracts me.

"The world’s longest train is Australia’s BHP Iron Ore Train. It is a freight train and its length is 7.353 kilometers. It has 682 carriages and eight diesel locomotive engines are required to pull it. This train was run for the first time in the year 2001. #train"

This is RCW126, a Hydrogen Alpha nebula region 6,500 light years away in the constellation of Scorpius. Captured over multiple nights in May and June 2025 using my Edge HD8 telescope and ASI1600MM Pro camera. 25 hours of total imaging time #astrophotography @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

I feel someone in charge of a country should be able to at least pass a basic history course!

So - I did it! I made it to the easternmost corner of mainland Scotland. Keith Inch, Peterhead. I walked from the southernmost corner, 410 miles away. After two days off, I begin to make my way towards the westernmost corner, over on Ardnamurchan. I’m loving this adventure!

If you need a breather from all this bullshit, here's a photo of Earth. From Saturn. We're that slightly brighter star at centre right.

Fascinating take from someone with combustion cars in their profile. Basically, he believes that unless your electricity is 100% renewable you must not drive an electric car. Gas and diesel is fine. Encouraged even. But if your electricity is only 93% renewable then you shouldn't drive an EV.

NEW: Astronomers used Hubble to re-examined the prediction that the Milky Way galaxy will eventually collide with the Andromeda galaxy. They find there is only a fifty-fifty chance the two galaxies will smash together within the next 10 billion years: bit.ly/3YzymOx 🔭 🧪
